Re: 23' Pacific for sale in Plymouth MA
I don't think his Pacific actually sold. The buyer backed out at the last minute.

Re: 23' Black Lab/Honda 225 engine mounting height
I started a post on this earlier, I'm dealing with the same issue. I'm running a 140 on a 20' Pacific. I had a local marina ($20) raise my engine up from the lowest to the 3rd hole early in the season. The result was a 25% gain in efficiency, I'm gonna go up one more to the last hole at the end of t...

Re: Some was talking knife sharpening a while back?
The V Sharp has 3 angle settings, 17, 20 and 25 degrees. According to their literature; 17 is the standard for fillet knives, 20 is the standard for most kitchen cutlery and 25 for butchering and hunting knives. What I have found with my fillet and kitchen knives is that they are getting sharper and...

Re: Labor Day Stripes
Yup, we were at Scorton's parking lot. I counted over 30 boats at one point in the morning, but there's good reason everyone is there. It definitely looks intimating from the outside, but once you get in there it's not so bad. Generally people are courteous, everyone is moving so slowly it's easy to...

I also endorse the V-Sharp, bought one after Occam's initial recommendation. It works great and its easy to use. The adjustable angles for different styles of knives makes it a great all purpose tool.

Labor Day Stripes
Got out over the holiday weekend to find some fish. The stripers were cooperating, Charlie was not. We managed to find a few pods of breaking footballs, we'd close in to get a few casts in and then they were gone. Good times regardless and I'm happy to continue my quest to catch my first tuna. Anoth...

Re: Where to stay - Portland, ME
Old Port is a great place to visit, I have been many times usually passing through on business. Its the small historic city center area loaded with bars, restaurants and shops. There's Hilton, Regency, Residence Inn and Portland Harbor Hotel all within or right next to Old Port. No need to do much p...

Re: Aug 25th Cape Cod
Nice :highfive: In CC Bay there are two 23' Pacific's that look identical with the exact same aftermarket pilot house. Puss n Boots (pictured) runs with a 140 Zuke, and Pogy Mike's with a 200 Zuke. Mike's Pacific is still for sale. He's got a guy looking at it this weekend, he's gonna send me some p...

Re: Engine Mounting Height
I finally got to use The Cup after lifting the engine two mounting holes about 3 weeks ago. As I hoped, this greatly reduced and almost eliminated the fan spray pattern from behind the boat when on plane. I expected slightly better performance, but not 20% more speed  20' pacific with 140hp J...

Re: Chatham MA Alloy
I don't know it well enough to say if there is a new opening or not. I'm aware that things are always changing in those parts and was interested to see that some of the shoals were not as indicated on my plotter. Knowing this we took it slow and easy. Fortunately several friends have houses in the a...

Chatham MA Alloy
Fished Monomoy Island all day Sunday (6/14) and Monday morning, what a great area. There were 2 other Pacific Boats out there on Sunday, a V2025 with a soft top and a V2325HT, "Emma". Out of the 8-10 boats working the area, 3 of them were Pacific's. Congratulations Jay, impressive market s...

23' Pacific for sale in Plymouth MA
A friend of mine is selling his 23' Pacific w/ 200hp Zuke, it has an after market alloy hard top. I don't know the exact year, would guess around 2001. He's asking $30k with trailer. He's a commercial bait guy and also runs charters, some of you locals may know Pogy Mike. If anyone is interested sen...

Re: Engine Mounting Height
Thanks for the help. I did check the full range of trim, this does not correct the problem. After my initial post, I did some research on the web and found similar info as Welder reports. It looks like I'm 1-2 mounting holes too low.

Engine Mounting Height
How does one confirm the correct mounting height of the outboard? I suspect that that my outboard is not mounted at the proper height, i.e prop depth in the water. My basis for this is the significant amount of spray that goes straight up and into the motor mount bracket area. I don't see this spray...

Hey OR, Nice seeing you this AM and NICE BOAT!!! You must have fished the North Bay from your water temps? I headed South for the first time this year, water was 58-60, no luck with bass but marked a lot of fish, I'm still trying to learn these waters. My son didn't last today so we weren't out very...

Re: Memorial Day Linesiders
Clambo,
Thanks, August sounds good. We have mostly been lining pogies in the AM, I agree the action shuts down early. I have only fished the upper bay so far, Prudence and North into Providence. I hear the South is really heating up.
See you out there.
Eric
