Took the day off and headed to the Cape for some striper and tuna fishing. The weather and conditions where great. The fog had set in during the night and by the morning burnt off at about 0700. I also think someone forgot to turn the wave machine on, not one wave all day.
As for tuna, there was no tuna love today... so I go 0 : 1. The stick boats where out in force and spotter helicopter was buzzing around. All the boats seemed to be out wasting fuel.
There where so many birds working that I limited on out on stripers 38" and 32" on a 1oz silver blue lure in about 45 minutes using light tackle spinning gear.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Cape Cod Bay today, he also happen to own a black lab too.
So Jim if your out there...thanks for the f*ing encouragement and how f*ing everyone just jumps all over the f*ing fish and doesn't let you f*ing troll through all the fish, while everyone else has f*ing changed over to top f*ing water gear. Thanks!?! Aug 25th Cape Cod

Nice job Where in the bay were you fishing Bilingsgate? What was the wind direction? I've seen that BLM on the bank I think back in the spring......
Re: Aug 25th Cape Cod
I left out of sandwich, east side of the canal, and headed right. During most of the day there was little to no wind. However by 1700, the winds picked up to about 4 knots to the NW.

Nice In CC Bay there are two 23' Pacific's that look identical with the exact same aftermarket pilot house. Puss n Boots (pictured) runs with a 140 Zuke, and Pogy Mike's with a 200 Zuke. Mike's Pacific is still for sale. He's got a guy looking at it this weekend, he's gonna send me some photos to post on AAB if it doesn't sell this weekend.

Re: Aug 25th Cape Cod
Looks like you had a good trip. I'm not much for tuna fishing yet, but I have friend that has been catching em about 4 miles outside of the Nauset inlet between Nauset beach and Coastguard beach, if you care to come back down this way. If you make the trip get here early, as for parking is at a premium.
Good luck,
Nate

Oh yeah Nate. I know what you mean about the parking lots. I'm normally there about 3am. It was very strange to see about 40 trucks at sandwich on a Tuesday!. I guess its because commercial striper fishing ends for the year on the 27th.

Re: Aug 25th Cape Cod
I've heard commercial bass days are a nightmare around race point, and Pamet harbor is tough to get into. I don't know much about Sandwich, but I'm sure it can also be crazy. Do you ever come down to the lower Cape with your boat? I've got 2 weddings to go to the first 2 weekends of Sep. but after that I hope to be fishing every weekend until the fish are gone. Hopefully I'll see you on the water.
Good luck,

Nate,
I go to Catham, but only once or twice a year.
