Green Ship's Ground Wire

On alloy boats, is there any special way to hook up the green "ship's ground" wire on electronics equipment that have them? GPS/PLOTTER and SOUNDER.

Ground everything to the battery negative post.
Is that a real Poncho or a Sears Poncho?
