Re: Rocksalt on CL
I'm guessing this is the original east coast "demo" RockSalt. When Jay (BlackLab) developed RockSalt with the folks in Texas, he moved his office from Maine to Massachusetts. Just a guess.

That boat needs to end up down south where you can use it close to year round

Re: Rocksalt on CL
The Welded Boat co. is no longer producing the boats. I'm not sure how many they built, but it was only a few. Bill Lincoln basically got the rights to the name and his design. Not sure of all of the details, but the bottom line the design is alive.
So this is a good time to announce that we are building the first one. Bill and I are excited. We are building a 28' center console. The hull will be the same as the Stanford Police boat with a very simple center console. The material is being cut now and we should start next week.
Of course we will post the build pictures. This is a low budget build. The customer is installing a used set of E-tec 250 hp. Not my first choice, but its what he has and fit his budget. The boat will be trailer-ed and used for commercial diving.
Stay tuned

Congrads! You might as well start with a pre-sold low budget build just to see how the parts come together. Are you doing the 28 that was originally built with the walk around pilot house? Still gonna have the true deep V hull form with sharp entry?

The boat is the same hull. It will have a very simple center console.

Re: Rocksalt on CL
IT WAS AWESOME.
Here we go again...I'll post the pic as it disappears on CL
Jay brought it here to J-ville and I spent the day with him in that boat showing everyone.
Wishing I had the cash to afford the fuel.
