Re: Nomad marine kits ?
Hi, I have built quite a few of Nomads boats in the past, He is probably one of the best Naval architect in the country witch would put him up there with one of the best in the world. Im not sure Adam would send you nested cut files to have the kit cut in the US as he dose like to do a full kit pack...

Re: New Power Cat Build
Hi Kevin, I can give you the quick answer on what software Chris uses, and ill let him know you asked the question. All the 2D drawing are developed in AutoCad and both Maxsurf & Rhino are used to develop the 3D models. Here is a quick walk through Video of the boat before it goes to paint. [BBv...

Re: New Power Cat Build
Not sure on cost to the USA, but id be guessing you could get the same thing built in the USA for quite a lot less than getting on built and shipped over. the Boat finished in Aus ready to go to work is $250,000.

Re: New Power Cat Build
Will do, it’s not far from going to be painted and being fitted out. A pair of 150 4 stroke out boards will be rigged and it will hold 300L of fuel per side 600L in total.

Re: bending 5083 plate.
Yes we use a 12mm round bar punch in a 65mm V-bolck die. seem to work great on 4mm 5083 of all tempers. 5mm on the other hand is a different story, we pressed a job not to long ago with a 25mm punch in a 90mm v-block and every bend cracked.

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
Katoh, what are the prevailing prices in Oz? Our Unleaded fuel 91octanne sells down at the bay for Ave $1.60 Litre and the premium 98octane Ave $1.90 Litre. The diesel sells for about the same price as the 91. I'm not up to date with the efficiency of new outboards, but I know when I had my Cat the...

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
Sorry , Have to ask the question. Why Outboards? In this size boat ain't you better of with good old "Rudolf Diesel", with the price of fuel (unleaded) and especially the quality or lack off in Oz, the running cost would be horrific. I don't want to start a debate, but with so much new te...

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
You are spot on a forward facing wind screen will reduce glare, but they are not very popular here in Australia on boats of this size it’s not till you get up to a round 40'+ you start to see them. Island Cabs are also becoming very popular down here as well with the charter operators as well as som...

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
Sole height above waterline is almost 300mm, this is a little higher than normal but was required for the amount of passengers the client was wanting to carry.

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
Gday all, glad you like the boat, It was a 6-7 Month build for this one as it was very customised for the Customer’s needs. The reason for the rod holders has to do with where this boat operates and the amount of passengers it’s surveyed to carry. At one time it could have as many as 12 people fishi...

Re: Pelagic Boats 28' Build
Its a Vinyl imitation carbon fiber, looks like the real thing and has a texture to it. It also reduces glare from the dash.

Re: New Pelagic 700 Elite
As for the cost to install an inboard diesel it normally comes to around the same money as fitting 2x outboards. as for just bolting an inboard into a boat that was designed for outboards, its not something we would do. you are pushing a lot of weight forward which will change the trim of the boat. ...
