WeldCraft Angler

Post by jeffryg »

I am giving serious consideration to ordering a WeldCraft 18 ft Angler. However, there are a couple of things that give me pause:
1. I primarily fish in Lake Erie (Western Basin) and it can get choppy out there. I'll be able to pick my days, but you still get caught out there when it gets bouncy. Wave intervals are short (not rollers). I'm wondering about the ride as it does not have a steep deadrise. I would get suspension seats to cushion the ride.
2. I love the room in the back of the boat but am wondering about the forward positioning of the dual console. Not what I'm used to. Is there an adjustment period to it? How do you guys feel about it?
If I want the boat by next spring, I'd have to order it soon. Any thoughts on this particular WeldCraft model would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing on this boat or similar models (i.e. Duckworth 18 ft)? Need to make a decision in January if I want it for the spring? Thank you!
