I went up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last weekend and this followed me back home ! its a 1956 Duracraft boat.. not much info on these boats can be found.. model is probably a Duraflite but dimensions don't match anything on the 1958 and above sales brochures.. there doesn't seem to be literature from before 1958.. its 16.6 long and a 70" Beam.. needs some restoration work but overall a nice solid, straight, start !

That is in great shape for a 60+ year old boat. It looks like you can have a captain piloting the boat with the crew or cargo in the middle. It has a nice sharply angled bow but a pretty low deadrise. It should stay on plane at a nice low speed. A really good find.

Thanks Dave !! I can't find the specs on this particular boat.. Duracraft info isn't real plentiful.. it doesn't fit any of the specs in the 1957 and above catalogs.. I believe the model is probably a " Duraflite " I see some were 14ft and 16.3ft.. this one is 16.6 ft. I need to replace the transom wood.. it was already removed before I bought it.. and remake the seats.. it had a windshield at one point.. I need to weld up some added holes here and there.. but its a pretty straight boat and I like that its a little larger boat but still a classy looking runabout !! I just couldn't pass it by for the asking price and it was only 3 1/2 hours away !! even better yet I got to cross the Mackinac Bridge to get it !! I love it up there !! :titanic:

Thank you welder !! I have a couple period correct motors I could use.. the 1958 "Duraflite" specs for a 15' 66" beam rates it for 30-60 hp. I have a 1957 Evinrude Lark 35 hp. and a 1957/58 Mercury Mark 75 60 hp.

Thanks welder will do.. I have a couple others ahead of it in the line up.. but as I have the time and extra materials ( marine Plywood mainly ) I'll be adding it to this boat.. I've already picked up a windshield that I think I can make work.. it really doesn't need much so it could actually jump ahead of one of the others that were first in line.. you can see two of my line up that are ahead of this one in my post " unknown Alloy boat "
