So my kids were all upset this morning that they have to go back home tomorrow and to school on Wednesday. they have been on the water one way or another every day since june 20th. We decided to brave the small craft warnings and do some boy fishing (luckily the girls team went to the carousel) I'm not sure if it helped make it easier to go to school. :banghead:

the two blues really saved the day. It was amazing that they both were exactly the same size. We will be back next weekend but it won't quite be the same. I think school gets out June 12 2014! not that I'm counting!

Cheers

Rick

What time of the year & what do you use to catch Blues?? I always hear the blues are always before or after the Stripers run but haven't hooked one yet. Everyone I talk to says they have sharp teeth.

Sabs then literally hit anything.....from a diamond jig to a beer can :rotfl: They are schooling up now for the fall migration and strap on the feed bag for the next few months. Some bleed em, ice em, and smoke or grill them.......we keep the very small ones in the fall. Fun to catch in the surf

'round here we refer to them as the "green scourge"......or saltwater Piranhas.

How many would ya like? Spring-time April'ish is when they come thru here (the southern strain) and drive me crazy.

But, like your boy(s). I too only grew into a "snob" as I got older and was purchasing the baits, hooks and such.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here's a real skinny version in the south, the largest Scourge ever caught on my boat and he got his due....someone chomped his azz!
11 pounds, but skinny because this had to HURT! Good for him, I say.
