My new to me Aluminum!
Well some of you might know that i've been on the search for a new to me welded aluminum boat for the last year. Three weeks ago I finally found my dream boat in washington! Imported it home to Canada and have been enjoying it every spare moment since! Found this 18' Silver Streak runabout, loaded with all the options. Self bailing deck, Walk through transom, gps, depthsounder, tr1 auto pilot, 150 honda 4 stroke 550 hrs, 9.9 merc kicker. amazing boat, well built and a smooth ride! Installed new scotty downriggers and Standard Horizon VHF and now shes everything I could ever want in a boat! A huge thanks to all the members who patiently answered my questions while I searched for boats!
By the way, It feels sooo good to be back in an aluminum boat after two years with a NON ALLOY!

Nothing quite like finding your dream boat after a long search and gettin it home! Long story short, i was the fifth person to call about the boat. Had a good long talk with the owner and at the end of it he said he would hold ono it for a week untill i could renew my passport and get down to see it bcaus he could tell over the phone that i was commited and he wanted it to go o a good home! I didnt post anything up here untill it was actually in my yard in fear of somethingfalling through!

Yeah buddy!!! Nice boat, congrats!
Re: My new to me Aluminum!
That is a lot boat for the size...know how you feel...making it your own is the fun part. It sure looks like the old owner didn't like using fenders either...sure makes docking at ramps no matter which side they are always there. Congrats and have FUN!!! Off to run a ferry while the rest of you play...I forgot driving boats and getting paid...that's PLAY!!

only been out fishing on her once so far. been far to busy doing work to her and taking friends out to the beaches, and just generaly exploring! Unfortunatly lost the one fish of the day right at the boat! beuty 15-18 lb spring that put up a great fight! been busy prepping for my big summer trip next weekend heading up to kyouquet on northern vancouver island for a 5 day fishing trip. I will be sure to throw up a few pics when i get home

Nice fish ya got.
Something I need to start doing is allowing my of age young man to start working the boat. Planning the trip to include the Capt of the Miss E

Re: My new to me Aluminum!
goatram,
i highly recomend you get your son running the boat! the best thing my folks did for me is let me run boats from a very early age. sure I made some mistakes and did soe stupid things but I learned from those conciquences and it's made me a better boater because of it!
