New Pacific Dealer

Like a few others on the board, I bought my Pacific from Jay Perotta when he was based at Yarmouth Boat Yard (YBY) in Yarmouth, Maine. I live in the next town over, so even though Jay is no longer there, I still take my Pacific to YBY for service annually. I run into Jay occassionally - usually at the airport - and the last time I saw him he mentioned that YBY might be picking up the Pacific line again. I just learned yesterday that has happened, and that YBY is now an official Pacific dealer again (Jay isn't involved, though, as far as I know). I thought I'd pass along the news for those interested. Here's a clip from YBY's December newsletter, which isn't on their web site yet:

"Yarmouth Boat Yard Adds Rosborough and Pacific Boats to New Boat Lineup

Yarmouth Boat Yard is pleased to announce their new affiliation with two outstanding boat makers: Rosborough Boats and Pacific Boats.

Pacific Boats has a 26 year history of providing quality, heavy duty welded plate aluminum boats. Pacific Boats are fuel efficient, trailerable, low-maintenance, sea worthy and rugged.

Pacific Boats offers 19 different models and available in a variety of lengths, cabin configurations and options. For more information visit http://www.pacificboats.com or call Steve or Andy at 207-846-9050."

Its about time......although is it really needed after all this time?

I guess so, if you don't want to fly across the country to test ride one. I suppose you'll start seeing a few "demos" there?

Sorry for spoling the surprise, Welder! I just happened to be checking in on my boat, they let me know and I asked if I could share.

They may get a new customer pretty fast. I talked via email to a guide in NJ that has quit guiding and wants to sell his 23 HT Pacific, and now wants a 19 rigged up for walleye and big lake fishing.

Naw it's cool, it's just a thing to me that I wanted to break the news here 1st.
I can't wait to get some art work from them and get it up and running, guess I'll call them tomorrow.

We are VERY happy to have YBY on board and getting it done.

That's great news!

Steve(owner) and Shawn(Service Manager) are great people who know the boats inside and out.

Good luck YBY!

I don't know, but I'll inquire. Traditionally, Jay relied on local owners (and his own boat) for sea trials and such. I'm not sure if Steve plans to work it the same way. My boat (26HT) and one other (26ST) are in the yard right now. Mine lives close by during the season, but I keep it at a mooring near my house and not in a slip.
