Ya got me there Tom, but as Cramer on Sienfeld said once....."I ENJOY DEPRIVING MYSELF OF THINGS".
I could get at least side rails, if there was anyone around here I'd actually trust to touch my boat with a welder. But I haven't found that individual yet.
I'd actually be better off that way, because at the Mayport ramp the rails seem to high, and I'd need them lower to hit the floating dock just right.
Like a nice marker of where they would go is now scuffed down the side of my boat nicely. So maybe someday, huh?

There is boat shop in Fernandina that did some frabrication on mine for a anchor windlass (which I love by the way, the brand is "Good Automatic Windlass") that seems to understand welding aluminum. One of the guys there built an alloy boat (I think). Any way, I can send their name if you ever want it.

Dave,
I hate to admit it, but I managed to mangle the "Amelia Family Charters" decal on the side of my boat. The rubrail did not protect it from the dock in St Mary's where I took an "eco-tour" charter for a lunch break (a great deal since I am not burning gas and they normally buy me lunch).
I went out and bought a couple of the flat fenders and they work ok. I'm embarassed to admit that an alloy owner has stooped to fenders but those stupid decals are too expensive to screwup.
