Aluminum Mount

At the Seattle Boat Show I found a product that was shown by one of the vendors. I have been searching for one of these for a while. it is aluminum and can be welded to the boat instead of bolting it in. Once the mounts are installed the inserts are mounted on your different components Either straight or bent to a 90 deg. What do you think of it?

I have heard they work very well but I would bolt it in before I welded it in.

Why? Welding them Might cause cracking?
Boltin them has the added SS fasteners and the holes that could induce corrosion.
Does anyone make them in marine plastic?

Just for the fact you may not want them where they were welded in and I want to say the 1st ones were made out of plastic.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

A product listed here that looks to be worth a damn. I like that. Looks EZ to install and right now I can see many applications on my boat already.

Pricey, but HD metal is usually worth it.

Why ain't our "fabricator members" coming up with stuff like this?

I see possibly a way of using that to mount a Dennis Braid Chum mate...aka: An Aussie Burley Bucket. That's removeable!!! In a Jiffy!

Some one here ought to also start making "Aussie" style cutting boards for our boats, possibly utilizing a mount system like this or weld on. With rod holders, and drain tubes, knife holders etc. I'd be in the market, if it was innovative as some opf the stuff I see on them slick azz boats fown yonder.

This discount will be good until March 1st 2011.

I have a new version coming out next month made of Starboard and a starboard flat insert.
The aluminum inserts are also comapible with the starboard version.

Here on the forum and at boat shows people have asked many times about getting a V-Lock in plastic. Well I finally got it worked out and not just plastic but marine grade starboard.

There is a flat starboard insert but the aluminum inserts are 100% compatible.

Let me know what you think.
