Toggin

#1

Post by AlloyToy »

Made our way under a beautiful star lit sky and headed east of RI for a quick tog trip. After 3 attempts to position the AlloyToy over a small rock pile we finally got it Four of us sent our baits down and quickly rods were bent. It was lock and load non stop action with the largest fish at 7 pounds.

4:1 short/keeper ratio. Not much in way of seabass. Had our 10 fish boat limit by 10:30 AM and headed for the barn shortly after.

Great morning toggin. Crabs were the bait used. Whole crabs produced all the large fish

It blew hard Rick when it kicked up. We rounded Pt. Judith and were met with sheets of water especially with the moon tide...

Beats doing yard work! Is that a white meat fish? How do you prepare them?

It is a white fish but on the strong side. I like to make fish chowder with it because it's hearty and stays together nicely. some bake it too

These fish live primarily in rock holes, they shoot out grab the bait and back their arses back in so you really need to muscle them out. It's a blast

Thanks. I make a seafood chowder with fresh prawns, scallops, and rock fish. If I ever get down your way, I will bring the shrimp!

I'll have to tell the "other guy" who bought the other two rods that they work good on them.

(he'll go out looking for Tog's that don't exsist here)
