New guy from Maine

#1

Post by Pale Ale »

Hello All,

Two time Parker owner, 21se and currently a 2006 23se. Looking for something between the Parker Sport Cabin and a Center Console. I have seen a few Pacific/BlackLabs around my area. I met Jay and looked at one a few years ago at a boat show. I like the design and I am very intrigued by the 23ST. I guess I need to drive the 30 minutes north and see Jay ?

I look forward to learning much more about these boats, and to hopefully own one in the near future.

Can someone show me examples of live-wells on the 23?

Cheers !

Jay is the guy to talk to, I think BLM and Pacific use these bait tanks, http://www.offshoreproducts.com/round_tanks.htm I do not believe a built in tank is offered.

Have a Pacificskiff Wa5 V2325 with a OS 45 live well. Raw water is continuously pumped into the tank. It is a very high quality tank keeping all types of bait and fish alive.

Tank of Squid.

The only thing I would have done differently is probably a smaller tank. Alot less weight and I always seem to have alot of bait left over at the end of the day

Welcome to AAB hope you join us in conversations.

Welcome aboard. I think you'll be happy you've joined AAB. There is lots of helpful info here, and lots of guys with Pacifics that can point you in right direction.

I am shocked that you don't see more alloy boats up in Maine. I have only seen a few here and there. Maybe they are starting to catch on and it'll look like the PNW soon.

My wife and I are closing on a piece of land up in Maine tomorrow. I hope you stick around, I am going to need some fishing tips.

Anyhow, good luck with your search.

Thanks to you all, and thanks for the photos. Nate, the fishing was slower this year with a lot less smaller Stripers. This actually concerns quite a few of us. It may have just been an off year, let's hope so. Good luck with the land. A nice piece of marsh? Ha Ha ...

Too funny, we were warned about you Mainers selling us Massholes land that looks oh soo good in the summer and a total swamp in the spring. Hopefully between the survey and the forestry guy that we sent to the land we'll be good. They both claim it is good land. Plus the ITS runs through the back corner. I am not a sled guy but, that could all change.
