Got a call late Thursday night.....TUNA!!!
On the road at 1:30 AM....the plan meet my buddy and his 26' Sailfish w/twins at Sandwich for a day on The Bank
Cast the lines of at 4:30 and made our way thru CC Bay. Pea soup conditions until mid bay and it opened up nicely. Seas 1 foot all day. We arrive on our spot to find tuna crashing on the surface as well as large stripers. I deploy the 4 rod spread of bars and swimmers and wham..........we're tight one singing and the other not so much......STRIPERS Spread goes back out and a repeat again, and again, and again, and again.......stripers to 40" crashing the bars as soon as they are deployed........
OK move, move, whales, move, bait move.......let's go cod fishing till the afternoon tide.....push the throttles up (boy do I love twins) and make our way "Deep East" we picked thru the cod for a box of nice white belly fish to 30" and some bonus haddock, and pollock. Made our way back to the bank and trolled a bit more....no love.
Headed in and took a bass in close for the grill as the bass on the bank cannot be kept.
Got back and had blackened Striper with a side of rice and a cold one for a late dinner.
Great day OTW
