I see others are getting into it all too. But this stuff is amazing.

Plus now Raymarine has what they call Broadband Radar for smaller boats, that is a whole new concept in radar technology??

check it out here.......oh now. Now I need a new 12" screen!

Jeez...I wonder what that set up would cost?

I think I will have to stick with my low level Garmin units.

Probably to outfit your whole boat with the latest and greatest, and have a pro do it all........probably close to that new shiney Dodge truck of yours would be a even swap.

21ftcc: Don't knock it till you try it. I am running a Garmin 5212 with the GLASS touch screen and have had no problems with it at all. Fish slime, blood - no problem. The only thing that is irritating is the fingerprints on the screen when the sun hits it just right. The Garmin touch screen as really good - I have no idea about the Ray.

I was thinking too, that a touch screen is more for that air conditioned helm room in a cruiser that on my open center console. I'm not all that sure that a sweat-azz finger is gonna be a good thing.

Yeah plus all the fishing by-products.

But it's here, because it's on a Ipod. Next will be sliding screens and such like a Ipod.

Hell, my anti-glare film on my Raymarine 12" C-120 screen didn't last a year. It works fine without it. But it wore off because I'm constantly wiping the screen with a paper towl or terry cloth towl.
