Push Knees?

#1

Post by stoohey »

I just bought the 23' Pacific that Adam at BLM yacht sales had for sale in Fall River MA. I am in the marine construction business and will often use the boat to help maneuver barges around worksites. Anyone ever attached push knees to their boat? I'm sure we can work something out but if anyone has any pictures I'd love to take a look.

Thanks

I'm going to put a push knee on my LaConner sometime soon as well. They are typically a custom build type of thing because all bows are different and the size and intended purpose of the knee varies a lot. If you will be moving low floats and work barges then you need something that extends down close to the water line. I'm primarily pushing around large boats so its going to be kind of small and will be up on the high point of the bow.

Not to hijack the tread but....I'm thinking about putting knees on my cat. To push the small barge that will be living quarters for my wife and I while we cruise the inland waterways of the eastern US.

Chuck, it would be cool if the knees were removable .

Just a thought.

Seem like pulling would be a lot more practical than pushing.

Or is the pushing done in just tight quarters?
