ID old gulf coast boat and ideas on refurb

#1

Post by Justin Landrum »

I picked up this boat near the marsh in south Louisiana.
Does anyone have an idea who or when it was made.
it’s a flat bottom with a semi v bow.

I gutted the hull and now have a nice canvas to work with.
Any suggestions appreciated.
The boat is all 3/16 thick except the Dimond plate is 1/8
The boat is 19’ long and 8’ Beam
weight is 1,400 lbs

I feel like I need to sand blast the whole boat. Every place that had a connection has a decent amount of corrosion. Lots of holes to fill.
Anyone use the Vulcan 220 tig welder? What filler rod?

Hey Justin, welcome to the AAB.com Forum.
The links don't open for me? and I don't see images in the text? In fact, on my display I see the Image string printed out.
May want to edit the post to see if the image attachment feature is OK maybe its just my old PC?

Cheers,

When I uploaded the pictures I was using my phone to create the post. I just copied and pasted the picture to the post.
What is the best way to upload?
