I would like to change the thru-hull transducers in my boat which were dealer installed some eighteen months ago using Sika adhesive. The intention is for the transducers to be re-used so it is not wanted to destroy them. I would be grateful for advice on how to go about this.
Removing the hull nut from inside the hull does not seem to present too much of a problem, neither does using braid to cut the bond between the flange/isolation bushing on the outside, but, assuming the spacer has been fully glued to the transducer threads as instructed – how does one remove the spacer and then the transducer itself?

there are a few products out there that will release the bond of the sealant. One of them is DE Bond. there may be more.
