Well as others probably want to know what the heck a Cope boat is I dug up some photos from the depths of my hard drive.
Here's some pic's from a great Halibut trip off of Tofino on Vancouver Island.

Bruce Cope had a small factory building these vessels in Parksville, B.C. here on Vancouver Island in the 90's. He built smaller boats in the 10' upto I heard 21' range. There is a lot of 16.5' ers around mostly center consoles. He didn't go out of business so to speak just kind of shut her down and is my understanding just designing for other folks and has a web site (which is always under construction) promoting kit's and plans. His designs are been built by our local University here in Nanaimo B.C. as part of a boat building class associated with the welding school.

Yeah I own a structural steel and misc. metals fab shop here on "The Rock" Vancouver Island, B.C. We mostly do red iron for buildings and stairs, handrails etc. We are also a certified pressure shop for doing stainless pipe spools for water works jobs etc. We do a little bit of stainless sheet work and some aluminum as well. Very diversified as any shop has to be these days.welder wrote:The Rock ,His Welding shop, The rock is a welder...................
I knew I liked the Rock for some reason.
Looks like a custom welding/fab shop, yes.
I looked at building a boat myself but I have a crew of 8-10 guys to keep busy full time so I have "0" time to dive into that project. So I have been looking for over a year and a half for a loaded boat within my budget and found the Edwing.

THE ROCK,
You need to get one of those 200-400lb. Halibuts in that boat, you can then ride it like a bucking bronco!
I love seeing little boats with big fish in it, those are some nice eating halibuts there, make me hungry!
Is that a home made tiller arm on the engine? If it is that's pretty cool thing to do, just set your speed and then it points you in the direction you want to go.
Cool rig, where do you fish out of???
