Some new alloy down in Port Angeles...

#1

Post by Chtucker »

I went down to Armstrong to check on things today.. They just rolled out a new 28' monohull that is awaiting 4cyl Yamahas that are on back order. They had also recently launched a 54' survey vessel.

Nice boat.
When will they start your new ride?
Getting excited yet? January is just around the corner you know.

Excited?! Understatement of the year! Had to play hookey after the last 8 weeks at work. 400 hours of OT in 8 weeks. My whole body hurts.

Supposed to start in the next week or so... Two shifts are working... It was the first time in the shop for me. We were finalizing some changes, trying to maximize some things and save a few bucks in others.

I cannot say enough about how patient and helpful they have been.

Thanks for sharing your pics. Armstong sure builds some heavy duty rides. We are all anxious to see the photos of your boat under construction!

We chickened out and went monohull. Biggest reasons were trailering, resale and saved some money. Harder to find catamaran buyers.

Sticking with 225 Hondas and the same equipment. Same layout. Saved some $$$$.

If we ever wanted dry stack storage the cat was out...

So how big will the monohull be? Should be a nice setup. Several of the GC hulls were built by Armstrong.

28'... It,kept the beam under 10' and the price under budget.

As with every project we kept adding amenities till it got out of control. And then there is the 8% sales tax we didn't realize was on boats...

Wherever we have lived previously, vehicles and boats were not charged the full sales tax...

Pretty much the boat above, except for a cabin entry head, a bench passenger seat.. Port and Starboard dive doors, dual stations, etc etc. the boat above topped out at $235k, we are significantly below that.
