For some reason the Trout have vacated, and we're at our super peak right now.
Water temps 81-84 degrees, depending if you're knee deep or stingray deep.
I could "bait-n-wait" on some big Redfish. But I hate a day of staring at rod tips while anchored up in 4 knots of current and 12 ounce sinkers on the bottom.
So we go elsewhere....."shrimp boat run & gun" again. INSTANT ACTION
Soon enough it'll be MY TIME. aka: deep fall and winter. Another long summer is coming to an end and can't come to an end fast enough for ME!
Stick a fork in my azz, I'm done and over 95 degrees every single day. (who wants to trade?)

Re: Down turn the last week or so....
around here it seems that we start counting the days (or months) till a break comes. (electric bill break too).
my "winter" fishing buddies a wealthy retired guy who lives in the mountains of N.C.
Then, in winter comes back to Jax Fla.
I keep telling him......buy a lodge in Louisiana, I run it for ya. So when he comes back south he has the best fishing he can ever have. (I could stand the heat if I were catching lots of Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Triple-tails, Mangrove Snappers, and maybe even yellowfin Tuna)
But for some reason he likes J-ville.
Things that make ya go HMMMM?
