Bait tank coming together. 18' diameter X 28" X 36" tall. Water is 3.5" down from the top. The top is recessed 2" down from the top. There is a 4" lip inside the tank opening to prevent splashing. It is filled by 3/4" pipe from a pump. Drainage will be 1.5" pipe below deck. Collector pipe is 2" should provide head pressure to push the water out the side.

Tested the tank today. Filled it filled with water. Flow was there. Need to do a little more welding on it to close up some of the gaps to increase the current. Dave cut slots in the diamond plate for water flow. Jamie did not weld ever tab but will.

The water flow at the top hole stayed the same as in the picture for 5 minutes.

No to get it back into the shop finishing then on the deck permanently welded in. Not removable. Still need to add the View window at some time. A light needs to be added as well in the bottom

This is FIRST CLASS to say the least! It will be interesting to see what all your hours and materials costs are and compare that to a custom built...BIG thing is it is the way you want little if no "settle for's"! It is a pleasure to read your postings. PJ

Saturday Dave aka Fogdocker beat me to my house cause I had to work day shift. We worked on the bow rails. They were formed and located. Also clamped up the anchor pulpit and made supports for the underside of it along with wrapping a 3" strap around it for added strength and to match the Original Work

Sunday the pulpit was tacked on. The topside seams will be TIGed . Worked on getting the cuddy structure ready to welded up. It's done ready for 1" plywood (on order)and the mattress to be made. Need to make a pattern and then cut 2 hatches. for storage under the bed on the port side and the electrical compartment on the Starboard side.

The back deck was welded on some more. It's still not done yet. Need to clean it of all the shavings prior to Tuesday night. I sweetened the pot for the kid doing the welding by adding a Bonus for completion by April.

The back bulkhead was completed by TIGing it up. Looks good.

The anchor bow pulpit railing still needs some elbows formed\bent to tie it into the railing. the Radar Arch and the brow over the front windows are next on the agenda.

This is a fun project. I do keep donating some of my own Blood to the Aluminum Dust that I generate. So far I have gone through 4 10"Carbide tip Saw Blades 3 rolls of .045 wire about 8 lbs of tig rod. and 8 or 10 bottles of argon.

The bow is really taking shape. I like the concept for your cuddy, gives you headroom inside where needed and it will shed the water if you bury the nose. April...I know you are anxious, but is it realistic? Sure is fun watching this whole build! Again thx for sharing.

So I am a little behind in posting should matter much no one is reading it.
The Cuddy Bed was cut and and hinged last weekend. It was shellacked this past Saturday. Today I took it to Churchhill Brothers in Everett WA. for the upholstery.
Last week I bought a new Bostrom Wide Glide II + Serta Seat it took me a day to tear the seat pedestal and adapt the seat to ride on the old Bostrom low pedestal I had and what I set up the seat box for. When I stuck the seat as bought on it and blew up the suspension My head would have hit the ceiling. Did destroy one seat pedestal. The seat that goes on it still needed to be recovered and it was free to me.

The plate in the picture is where the Windlass will be mounted.

Santa came late to and left a few packages on the front porch. I should be having a lot of my new toys coming in over the next few days.

Dave aka FogDocker cutting the two holes thru the 1/2" plate in prep for the windlass to be installed first picture using the Metabo Jig Saw. 4 blades from Bosch pit the dust for the install. Seems to be a rib was in the way for the fwd chain fall hole. He ran me out of blades on Saturday.

The second and third pictures are of the completed windlass that i got from a BD Brotha. Owner of a Clorox bottle Defiance Boat aka deviant.

You will love that Bostrom seat, John. Very comfortable. I like the bow pulpit. It really adds to the look of the bow. How long and wide is the cuddy?

The wiring has begun! Today Albert a electrician that works at Munson Boats in Anachortis is doing the wiring along with Dan also from Munson is helping. Dan is a friend of my son Jamie. Albert is Dan's lead. Albert is a Honda Certified Rigging Technician. Used to work at Care Toys Installing Car Stereos for 14 years. Hopefully he will ensure my boat is complaint to the latest ABYC Standards in prep for the Survey for the Insurance Coverage Requirements

4 bilge pumps; 2 ea. 2000 gph, 2ea. 1100 gph pumps with float and switch activations on each one. On the advice of some of my friends I am installing a diaphragm pump for the fish box. Will require a swap of discharge thru hull to a 1.5" pipe from 1 1/8". I was going with a Jabsco Macerater Pump The bait pump is a 1100 gph. The three underwater lights are installed. They are Ocean LED "Amphibians". Got them thru Ken aka Flasher at the Seattle Boat Show.

Glove box is welded up as is the dash. Need to start the layout. The radios; 2 each are going in an overhead removable panel. The 2ea. 2.5" half pipes previously installed were removed and will be replaced by 2ea. 1.5" pipes bent at the top that go into the fwd side of the overhead like what is on that cat by Armstrong at the boat show.

Hand rails are finished welded. The toe rails on the bow rail is being set in and welded at 3.5" off of the deck.

Brainstorming this past weekend might get me two dive doors one each side built like Munson's`current boats. They might make it on the boat prior to the engines and the eyebrows will be coming in the next couple of weeks too. Jim aka the welder said he can have both done in a weekend. He will work around the riggers.

That will work fine, especially if you are tired. Do you have room to hang cots in the berth like I did? It's hard to tell from the pics how tall it is in the stabbin' cabin'.

John, I just went thru this with Jaimie (WATERDOG247) and his big Silver Streak, I can't get his rig into my lift, trailer is too wide. Can you measure yours, I have 9' 11" between my posts. Also your max height sitting on the trailer? I have 12' 5" there.

That is where i got into trouble. The top of the radar dome is 12' 6". The widest part of the boat isnt at the stern, its amid ship. The trailer is 8'6, but the gunnels and handrails push out 6" on either side. Just the slightest bit too big. (No ones ever told me that before!). :)

Ok the weekend is over, time for a report.

A lot was done some of which cant really see yet. First off is the two wire ways were welded in place at the front window dividers. They drop the wire into the overhead radio box. The two VHF radios the Lowrance Sonic Hub along withe the two 6.5" Lowrance speakers were install in the overhead. Holes were drilled at the radar support down tubes in prep to run wires to the roof. NAV lights are installed. Aft swim step and aft pumps are wired with the ends at the helm. The interior lights and back deck lights are going in.

Finally after three days of me leaving before the Fed Ex man made his atop I got my box of goodies from Defiance Marine. Ben in Parts for some reason shipped it with required signature. The helm can now be configured and parts made.

The back deck got some attention. First thing was the trays under the gunnel. The bottom one is set 3.5" up from the floor; this was done for safety. It will act as a toe kick. Only 6' was installed because this fall two dive doors will be installed one on each side of the boat. The pot puller davit was installed thru the gunnel on the starboard side. Made from schedule 80 2" pipe. Looks sweet.

My son TIGed all of the 34 rod holders. Ken says the standoffs should be done by Friday. Might get that done next week

More to come in my Epic Journey. I can feel it coming together.
