Anybody have any first hand knowledge of the quality of these boats? There are few for sale now...

No firsthand knowledge. Sorry...

Northwest has a good reputation. I was in Victoria, BC a couple of years ago and there were lots of these boats in the harbor.

Lifetimer I've heard mixed reviews about. Again nothing firsthand though.

I've used a few lifetimers and i'd give them a thumbs up for quality and ride. used both a 16' open skiff with 25hp honda tiller and 18' center console with 2' pod and 90 hp yamy. both are solidly built.
I have yet to ride in a northwest but if i ever had the money to buy one i would jump on it. they've got a very distinct style and everyone i've talked to have absolutly raved about they're performance.

cheers
