Sunday Espionage

Plan was to get a mid morning start and catch the noon tide. This trip was to do some scouting for the up coming fluke tourney this coming weekend, and to bend poles for the juniors (kids & friends).

We shoved off at 8am and made our 4 mile run to the south facing beaches. The water was slick and not a breath of air to be found.

Fishing was tough with absolutely no drift. After numerous attempts and not a bent rod we decided to stow the gear and run to Block Island. We arrived on the east side of the island and set up our drift. The boys dropped and bang all three came tight with a combo of just sub legal fluke and sea bass. This bite continued for the next 1 1/2 hours as the tide changed. Slack tide the bite stopped. Out came the PBJ's, lemonade, and the twizzlers.......

Fished for another hour or so until the boys had enough then made the run back inside so they could do some swimming.....

Although there were no record fish caught the time spent OTW brought smiles to all faces on board

Looks like a GREAT time had by all. I have been fortunate a few times to get nice flat water on some of my adventures off shore. It sure is nice to be able to cruise without the beating. :hammer:
