I think that this boat will be a great compromise between an open skiff and your 24-29 foot models. It will get people out on the water without being in the weather at an affordable price. What are you thinking for power? I think that an F150 would be a nice match. Have you come up with a price, yet?

I agree. There has to be a market for that boat. Mine with my modifications attracts lots of attention. I did throw on the F250 for the extra power for the times when I take it out for tuna.

Self bailing deck as well Glen?

A 150 is what we will use. A 150 will be just right on this boat, fast and good on gas. We will use a Diamond Sea swing door that folds against the rear cabin wall, I don't like sliders as well myself if you have cold weather with some slush in the track and if it freezes durning the night the door isn't going to open. Looks like a great boat. It is great to have you on the board. Will this boat be able to be fitted with the walk through clam hatch?

To answer your questions. #1. No it's not self bailing, it's very hard to make the floors high enough in a smaller boat. #2. Yes a gull wing front door will work in the 20ft pilot. #3. The 20ft offshore with the pilot house option, the offshore bracket, raised sides with 50 gal fish box, 150 hp with ss prop and hyd. steering rigging package with battery. tandem axle trailer about 56k. The boat the way it will be outfitted in the Anchorage with a lot more options including a head about 69k plus freight. Glen

16 degrees deadrise at the transom and 30 degrees deadrise in the bow. Total package for boat, motor and trailer would be less than 5,000 lbs. Will take to official scale and have exact weight when completed.- Glen

Boat has rails now and welding is near completion.Image

Nice looking boat, is it the weight that makes it so it cannot be self bailing?

The cabin floor is 8" lower than the back deck , that tells me the cabin deck is at or below the water line.

No biggie , throw a couple bilge pumps in and hammer down.

All that stuffed into jus' a 20 foot?
Wow, the pics are so deceiving.

Now all ya need is a "6 year old kid dressed up as a welder" to stand next to it in a brochure photo and people will think it's a 28 footer! :rotfl: :rotfl:

The rear deck is raised 3" for fuel capacity. You step down 8" from the rear deck to the center aisle in the cabin. The floor in the aisle is 8" from the keel. Here are some pictures with my dad who is 5' 8" checking out the boat. Sorry (Jettywolf), no 6 year old welders here but my dad just turned 87 on November 5th. -Glen :)

That's not a midget in a flannel shirt!

Wow, that's a ton of boat for the actual size, as stated before.

Thanks for the boat pics :!:

Thank you for participating here and showing your builds

What is the beam? (or did you already say)

Can this 20' be built with a shorter walkaround cabin?

Beam is 97 1/2". Yes you can make the cabin shorter. There is 3' behind the driver's seat now and if you made it shorter you would lose the ability to have a stand-up head. Plus, you would have to have custom side windows made.- Glen

We operate two-axle straight trucks with 26' van bodies and to think that this one would fit inside fully rigged and could shut the door still challenges my mental ability to visualize it. If this 20' pushes 5k in weight dry, it will be very considerably overbuilt or heavily equipped (or both!) more than vessels of 25' that I've seen specs on.

The finished product will be well worth the wait to see.

I believe that the 5k includes the trailer. Wooldridges tend to be light for their size.
