The sportjet is another Northwind boat. That boat is using one of Mecrusiers jet units. Here are a few others.

he Fishing Vessel MIGNIFICENT is a 28-foot center pilot house high-speed aluminum V-hull powerboat, custom designed by Specmar, Inc. of Scappoose, Oregon. The boat is equipped with twin 175 HP direct-injected two-stroke Evinrude outboard motors. The vessel was fabricated using the Metal-Inert Gas (MIG) welding process. Hence the distinctive name.

Although aluminum hulled boats are very common on the west coast, they are relatively rare in New England waters. Contrary to rumor, they do not ride inherently rougher than NON ALLOY vessels, nor are they any more “cold” to ride in. In fact, with seating behind the pilot house on MIGNIFICENT, you’ll stay warmer and drier while underway than on a similarly sized NON ALLOY center-console. With a normal cruising speed of 30 knots, MIGNIFICENT will minimize your time travelling and maximize your time fishing.

MIGNIFICENT is equipped with a state-of-the-art Raymarine C-Series integrated navigation and sonar system, including a 12” full-color multifunction display, GPS, precision fishfinder, 24 nautical mile radar, and autopilot. Up to the minute weather reports are obtained via 3G cellular network and marine weather radio.

MIGNIFICENT is outfitted as a commercial fishing vessel, so it carries more advanced safety gear than most charter boats. Equipment includes Type I life vests, signal and first aid kits, two VHF radios, fire extinguishers, a six-person life float, and a 406 MHz Category II EPIRB. Perhaps the most important safety feature is the twin outboard motor installation. The boat can cruise at 25 knots on a single motor.

I think welder should email them and get the owner to join. I will get AT a drool rag.
