I took my first real ocean run with the Edwing and I'm surprised.

We ran the boat from Narragansett RI to Stonington Ct which I assume is 20+ miles each way. The downwind morning cruise was beautiful but the way back sucked! Coming home I had 4' tight chop just off the nose enough to be a pain and I went from nervous to "I'm doing ok” in about 30 minutes . I definitely gained some respect for the boat and can’t say enough for the enclosed wheelhouse and Honda outboards. Love them both!

Rounding watch hill was brutal due to the waves standing straight up thanks to the point of land, wind and current. There were honestly 5’ waves packed so tight my bow just stayed straight up. I was at 3000 RPMs going nowhere and a little nervous at this point. I 100% didn’t have the fuel to run 5 knots at 3000 RPMS for 20 miles!!! My wife was with me and said “what’s that dripping from the dash?“ To add to my wave / fuel worries my hydraulic steering was puking fluid but I replied “O, it’s noting we’re fine.“ (The cap was loose and bow so high it leaked out.) Then she said “what’s that noise, sounds like something broke?” I didn’t have a clue but the noise was load, new, and not good but I had to say with a smile “O, it’s nothing we’re fine.”

Long story short after a mile of hell around Watch hill the waves went from scary to a real pain but we made it with no problem. Tabs (SOOOOO glad I installed them and would not have made it with out them) down all the way to keep bow as low as possible, 4k RPMs on the flawless twin 90’s at 19knots and we smashed through the waves burning 20 gallons round trip. The only damage was my spotlight, the bulb fell out but it was still wired so that was the crazy noise we heard. The heavy bulb smashing on the wheelhouse roof ringing the entire boat over every wave. It finally smashed and glass was everywhere…..noise gone.

Just another day on the water….

It can get nasty for sure....had that ride from the near offshore grounds (Coxes) a couple years ago. If you trailer mooringman you can always scoot into Barn Island (Stonnington) and yank her out there nice calm deep water ramp with 4 lanes for launching/retrieving

It was there...Now its gone....you won one if you guessed correctly.

I snuck that one by the "Big W", it was G rated compared to their stuff.

BTW...you need to try the www.carolinaclaw.com on your reel seatless rods. This reel clamp/big trigger/hook holder is AWESOME.

Been using mine and don't know how I lived all this time without it on my shark tackle.

Charkbait's Mark Smith, is VERY interested :!: :!: :!:

AlloyToy, do you wrap your aluminum boat or let the sun melt the snow off?

I just replaced both end caps on my sea star hydraulic steering tube. That leak is now fixed!! (You guys should pop off the black aluminum arms that tightly fit over the SS steering arm and grease them. Once these freeze up, replacing the caps is a nightmare.)

To 100% complete last years wiring job I also installed new pos and neg #4 battery cables from the battery switch back to each Honda starter. Kind of bored this winter....I think the Edwing's "to-do list" is done.

I Pulled into a slip this summer to see what all the Pacific fuss was about about. Not sure the size of this one but it sure was a center console style boat! Very nice welds!

It's by no means a work boat and walking room was tight. The bow had a step on the deck and the port and stb sides had rope lockers that decreased the walking space aroung the center console.

It had a 250 HP, with jackplate, so I'm NOT gonna race him!

From this end it looks like a 23 Hard Top, those tops are wider than normal.
That's called a "Fishing Boat" or "Recreational Boat" Those side rope lockers as you call them were originally closed and filled with foam for UP RIGHT flotation but non of there boats have sunk so they stopped doing it and now use them for storage.
And yes you will have a hard time finding another boat that has better welds than pacific.

Foam....good idea. I think I would cut those hip busters out and love the extra walk room. Nice boat, except for the lack of deck room. How much $ is a new one, $100k? This guys fishes and quahogs off it in Narragansett bay.

What do you guys think I could sell my Edwing for?

Actually the "Hip Busters" are great for storage and really beef up the gunwales but because of the angle of the hull when you are facing port or starboard your toes hit the hull before you bump the hip busters and again, that is the 3/4 hard top and it does eat up more deck space.
The 23's run from about 65K to 90K and the 26's run about 80K to 120K and of course it all depends on what you want on/in them.
This one is my dream boat...

Nice clean lines and WHAT A BOAT RAMP! Wow......

Looks like a North Coast brand boat and I'm not sure the one I saw had the flat gun-whale to walk all around the OD of the hull.

Just buy one, life is short...especially for males!!!! I bet WelderBob could make you one for less!

I just removed an expensive Bronze thu-hull transducer from the Edwing so I wouldn't have any bronze against aluminum and got lucky. No issues with the aluminum where it touched the bronze thanks to a wooden spacer on the outside and a clean dry bilge on the inside!

You guys should check yours if it's bronze!! I swapped it out for a plastic transducer.

Scored a Garmin 182C for $85 and a Raymarine e120 (No 125 GPS antenna though but everything else down to the sun cover and bracket) for $500 at a marine consignment shop!! NICE!
