Re: MY 25' EDWING
Need any Engineering work done? I can do it...
This shot shows my bow rubber crash pad. It protects the hull from the moorings and is 1/4" away from the actual bow plate so it doesn't trap water between it and the bow.

Re: MY 25' EDWING
Here's my winch post designed for an 8,000 pound pull force. FEA (Finite Element Analysis) was used to prove the design. It's mounted right to the two frame rails and then welded to the back gunwhale tube. I welded a plate inside the tube to stiffen it up. The string was used to design the winch cable angle. Fun project...works great.

Re: MY 25' EDWING
Will do sabs28
I winched the bow so low to the water picking up a stuck mooring that the aft bottom, honda props and sfull kegs were totally in the air!! Would have been a great picture for the post!
The boat rode like a dream with that 500 pounds off the bow! Jumped up on plane and cut throught the chop well. Time for a bow water tank, 9 pounds per gallon.

Hi AlloyToy,
Were you the 21-23 Pacific with the Yamaha that pulled into the beach with your wife? Small world! Great site!
I had a 400 pounder off the bow roller and set it on the South Kingstown side. Then I pulled a 500 pounder up from the mud ............ then it was time to relax.
That was my first Ocean run and the boat did pretty well !
The trim tabs are now complete and I'll test them this weekend. I think I went a little overboard.

Re: MY 25' EDWING
My tabs, lenco electric. I had the aluminum C-channels welded on then the SS trim tabs powder coated to hide the stainless. I added the zinc. I added a gasket between the ss tabs and aluminum C-channel. After looking at the galvanic scale I'm all about galvanized bolts now. They're double nutted with loctite 242.

Re: MY 25' EDWING
I have sun / skin cancer issues so this will help. Fits nice and the headroom is perfect.
Has anyone dyed a blue sunbrella canvas black? Sure would like to try it.....

Re: MY 25' EDWING
Thanks.
I use this type Johnson pump in the work boats, they're great. I run the heck out of them too.
http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... 4AodbEQAgg
I'm a RI distributor for Venture trailers and they only use pine bunk boards, not PT wood. (Just to let you know) I have plastic bunk board covers that are 1" longer than the bunks, bow and stern, so the wet rug never hits the hull. Not sure of the brand or model because they were ordered with the trailer.
I did pull all the steel bunk covers staples out along the sides that goes up against the aluminum chine. Be careful of that.
Enjoy the day, I'm heading out on the water now!

Oh yeah I would......They come with a tan already.
Personally, I like to stay ethnically correct. My favorite is a redheaded fair skinned Irish gal. And that ain't what works in the Fla sun, that's fer sure.
Ya know, like those Youtube video's called, "Spot the Canadian?" -Less leathery when 50 years old.

My post has taken a turn for the worst.
Re: MY 25' EDWING
Looks like this is coming together nicely...nice wire job. I spoke with a pal who does canvas work...that type of fabric is not suitable for dye afterwards...doesn't take! You could always do like "days o yore" in merchant and navy ships, PAINT. Sorry!

Re: MY 25' EDWING
He's right, the sunbrella web site says the same thing.
I just bought some underwater through hulls that are non metallic so no corrosion. Forespar brand. They're made of marelon.
They make lightweight seacocks to reduce the stress on the through hull fitting too.
I should be taking it to Block Island next week!!
