Am I missing something.......

Don't ya mean, "New ones". AKA: "a forum to add dumb comments heard about alloy boats?"

I know you have a running list too, as do I.

My #.....if you can reach me here, and if it's turned on.

I have a Icom 504, but I have not yet used DSC yet. I have read the manual, and I understand the basic operation. Have any of you guys used this, and is it very useful? It seems to me that the two main uses is if a friend is fishing and doing well and does not want to say where he is at on the radio you can transmit your location in private. The other potential use is to have all of your friends plugged into it in a group, and then being able to poll a group to see who is out without having to repeatedly hail a bunch of different boats.

Let me know what you think, and if I understand this correctly or have missed something.
