Out of gas
Out of gas
Ran out of gas yesterday in my 2005 Pacific V2025.
Filled up on the way home, it only took 40 gallons. This whole time I thought I had a 50 gallon tank. Did Pacific put a 40 gallon tank in the V2025 in 2005 or do I have 10 gallons that's not getting picked up?

Re: Out of gas
Oh wait...... 2005 model, Sorry but it may have a 40 gallon . Is it a plastic tank or aluminum?
I'm pretty sure the 05 and newer have alloy tanks.

Re: Out of gas
the best way to find out is to call Julie at Pacific boats, 888-658-7111, and she can give you the right answer , you might need to have your HIN# ready so she can look up the build.

It's an alloy tank, visible through the hatch on deck.
I'll call Julie

I just heard from Julie [Via Text] and your boat has a 50 gallon tank.
I wonder if it's a bad pick up tube?

Re: Out of gas
She also said to check the fuel fill hose to make sure there's no extra "droop". If the hose is to long it makes it tough to fill completely.

Re: Out of gas
So, I checked the length of the fill hose, seems right, can't pull any slack. Although I can't see it the whole way, I pulled it an it didn't give more than 3/4 inch.
I called Julie who confirmed the 50 gallon tank, she gave me some things to check into, I'll keep you posted.
Not sure how I'll know if I solve the problem since I have to run out of gas in order to know how much is in the tank, but at least we are on it.

Re: Out of gas
I added gas from cans, it took about 7 more gallons. I'm thinking that when I fill, the boat is a little bow-down and the gas is above the vent hole in the tank so it builds pressure and backs up before filling. Next step will be to run the boat, then fill up with the bow raised, then see if it will take any from the can when we get home.

Re: Out of gas
Bingo
It helps to have the boat level for sure.
When I fill my 23 i watch the fuel gauge and when it starts getting close to full I slow down to the 1st notch on the fuel handle .
I do have two vents on my 2325 [115 gallon tank] and if i go full bore until it's full she will burp fuel all over.
