For you Cummins and Duramax fanboys

Post by Chaps »

Went to the annual Workboat show in Seattle today. Started to take some pics but the camera crapped out right away. Managed to save a couple of engines and a fuzzy shot of the Armstrong booth with there mini-models. This is the show to go to if you are interested in checking out how commercial fishing, tug and utility craft of all types are equipped. Hydraulics, high seas electronics, freezer systems, fish processing machinery, running gear, nets & cordage, etc. http://www.pacificmarineexpo.com/new-products
not the biggest engine at the show and this was just a generator! They don't paint Cummins white when they get to this size Welder

Armstrong was there along with Lee Shore, Kvichak, Mavrik, Rozema, Almar and a few others. Just booths, no boats.

I got the Same Picture Bob of the Armstrong Booth.
Shockwave.com had some cool Seats but pricey.
Oceantraps.com had a unerversal Crab/Shrimp Lobster pot made of plastic that splits in two with the hinge at the bottom that is stackable
Electricalhub.com had a cool set of Wirec Crimpers for the wire connectors with the heatshrink.
Cudabrands.com had some cool tools for fishing
SilvagripWest.com has some cool grip tape products that look and feel good.

Fraser Foundry was there and they do have the Bow Eye instock that you can weld on.
Soon I will post a picture as an edit.

That dmax looks interesting. My boss was trying to buy one last year. Remember who marinized it?

Those model boats are super cool, would love to have one. I cannot imagine why anyone would want a marinized Duramax.

The company who marinizes them is MD (Marine Diesel) from Sweden. Their US distributer is Performance Diesel, Inc. in Webster, Texas.
performancediesel.com
They weigh in at about 1000 pounds, available in 400, 450 & 500HP with up to 730 ft lbs of torque. I bet they would make a good engine.
Here are a couple of pictures of this same engine from last week's International Work Boat Show in New Orleans
