Sweet boat and a fast refit. Congrats on a Job well done. Welds look good. Tank leaning looks questionable for security you posted the pics so nothing happened

Oh I didn't clean the tank in that position. That was just to lift it out and put it in the truck. Can you imagine how scary that would have been! Cleaning tanks is always easier said than done, hotsies are nice for the job. No visible contaiments in the clear plastic racor bowl. 80 hrs so far so good..... Knock on wood.

Nice looking boat. What are your numbers? I talked to the seller about it, but he was FIRM at $59k so I passed.

Yeah, he was unrealistic about the price for a loooong time. I finally went down there and showed him everything that need to be done to make it worth the price he

was asking. The boat had been neglected. It still took him a while after that to come around. With the F300 I get interesting numbers. I average 2.8-2.9 mpg with a

day fishing load (1/2 tank fuel, 2-3 people, good seas and minimal gear). The cool thing is the numbers don't change much for a while after that. 3700-4200 rpm+2.6-

2.7mpg with a full load (188 gal fuel, gear for 3-4 nights, 2-3 people, water, good seas). At 3700 i'm doing about 25knts, at 4200 about 30. Whats real nice is the boats

ability to stay on plane at low speeds in nasty wx. We came back in a 40knt gale, 6ft confused, steep. At 3600-3,700 we were getting 1.8mpg at 13-16knts. I've had a

half dozen or so alloy saltwater craft and this is the best performer so far……….Knock on wood. Also have a boulton sport with the 200 opti, the bottom looks like a golf

ball, I'll be cutting the bottom off and replacing it soon. Heres a beautiful ol woody I used to have, this thing was awesome in following seas.

Why yes it is chaps, epoxy over mahogany ply. That boat got sanded down, refastened, reepoxied. Reportedly it live in gustavus. Here's a photo of the sled.

That is a really cool project, thanks for sharing! What is your minimum speed for planing? , and minimum required RPM?

min speed for planing is 15knt+/-

min rpm for planing is 3400 rpm+/-

Those new 300's (4.2l v-6) are very torquey, with the fly by wire you have to be careful not to send people flying. Super wide motor as you guys know. I set my control friction fairly high as to not accidentally bump the controls and hurt someone, or make an over-throttle adjustment in heavy weather. Here's a pic of the beast on the spit in homer after mounting motor awaiting sea trial.
