Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Jay, Are/can the Rock Salts be unsinkable with all the compartments? As designed the boats are built to LLoyds rules for high-speed craft (you'd never see a Contender or Yellowfin built to such a standard!). These rules mean that the boat has 3 watertight bulkheads incorporated into the boat. If al...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Are the smaller Rock Salt boats foam filled with a sealed deck? Is it possible to have a center console you can have a toilet in that has a floor lower than the deck? The boats do not have a foam-filled deck (but this can be done at the customer's request). having a console with a head is very easy...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
With all that you've said Jay and the fact that the hull design is more along the lines of a "go fast CC" then what effects does adding a big pilot house have on the ride & performance, fuel economy etc??? The majority of the "Go Fasts" have an open deck area with a CC/helm ...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Jay I would be interested also! How much gas? Will this boat be available for testing either in Maine or Ct? Thanks Gas - we can do up to probably 225 gallons (maybe more) - the boat pictured had a 150 gallon tank per their specifications. Boat will be available to be demo'd in Stamford, CT after d...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Jay, Do you have a comparison or explanation defining the differences between the Pacific hull design and the Rock Salt hull design, and how they react differently from one another? Also curious on the 26' RS what the specs would be (entry angle and deadrise, weight, and HP requirements) Looking go...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Wow Jay, Nice job, it looks very impressive!   What are the spec's: beam, draft, weight, walk distance between cabin and gunnel, width in pilothouse Do you think a single 350 would be enough power? I assume a price similar to the Pacific 28? Cheers Rick Glad you like it Rick! Boa...

Re: Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Per the police department's request/specification - twin 225hp Optimaxes. Boat scooted right along. We had a performance spec of 45mph but hit a flat 50mph and the boat was quick! We were only turning 5300 rpm with a 19" Revolution 4 prop so we'll see....

Sneak Peak - Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse Early Trials
Was down in Texas over the weekend with the guys from the Stamford, CT marine police unit to do an early sea trial and check on their new Rock Salt 29 Walkaround Pilothouse. The customers couldn't have been happier. Boat went 50 mph and felt just great. More pics to come. Thought you guys would like...

Now that's funny.
BTW - Welder.....is your boat parked over a couple of handicapped spots? Don't worry about those WWII vets with replaced hips and knees - they actually need the exercise of a good long walk.
