Last Weekend 4 Kings (Gray's Harbor, Wa.)
This weekend is the last weekend you can fish for Chinook where I live in Grays Harbor, Wa. Because of the beautiful dry weather we've been experiencing this fall I was unable to put together my normal crew (guys mostly work construction). I was feeling a bit dejected and resigned myself to a weeken...

Re: Tow Rating
Thanks guys. Enough said Mojo... Sounds like the Sport Trac motor is a dog up 'till 2007... It just wasnt meant to be a tow vehicle. Was looking at a 2005 or newer Tacoma or Frontier with a V6 but a full size F150 is cheaper. So that brings me back to a full size truck. You can't really beat the pri...

Hi all. Looking for some help... There is a super-clean 2001 Ford Explorer Sporttrack 4x4 with a V6 for sale. It has 55k miles. The price is right but wondering how it would do towing my 20' Koffler???? I know I could just go with fact. specs/ratings but am looking for first-hand experiences since t...

Hi boys. Was looking at www.kofflerboats.com (new updated website) and noticed they released a video of my boat's sea trials. It's labeled under the "sea dorry" section (even though it's a Baybee). Looks like she was making pretty good time for a 20' with a 60 hp outboard. :highfive...

Kevin, It's definately a buyers market... I like Bayrunners Valcos, Gregors and Klamaths but definately would suggest you take a look @ some Alumawelds, Hewescrafts, North Rivers and Raiders too. Happy hunting!

LOL!!! I love a 4x4 as much as the next guy but man the deals to be found on a newer vintage 4x2 compared to a 4x4 would make my boat payments for a couple of years!

Do I really need x4 wheel drive?
My Ford F140 4x4 has 200k miles on her 6 cyliner engine with no probs. She's a standard cab so my family does not fit anymore. I mainly launch my boat out of Ocean Shores here in Wa. I also have launched from Seiku, Bellingham, and a few other places in Wa. I've never come close to ever needing 4-wh...

Who's Pacific?
Was coming back through the Grays Harbor, Wa. bar and observed a "hard charging" Pacific Boat off my starboard quarter. Was thinking about trying to hail it on the radio but decided against as we both had our hands full with snotty, confused water. Wish I could have taken a pic. Waves, spr...

Re: Sunken Jetty, Westport, WA.
Some guys swear up and down that greenlings and blue cabees taste sweeter that their normal colored counterparts. My wife and I can not tell them apart and think there's not much of a difference. I'm thinking it could just be genetic. I've caught a greenling right next to a regular colored ling... w...

Re: Sunken Jetty, Westport, WA.
John, Don't worry buddy we catch plenty of dungies around here  . My boys like to throw the crab rings right from the beach (in front of the state park). Good fun! Not sure what the range on my boat is yet? I went bottom fishing on the sunken jetty successfuly solo (usually buddy boat with...

Great report. Took my then 6 yr. old son to Seiku, Wa. last year. We hammered the pinks, coho and kings. He caught his first Chinook and has been begging me to go again this year. Nothing better than fishing with your own boys. Congrats!

Re: Sunken Jetty, Westport, WA.
Thanks Lester. Thinking about heading out again on the Fourth of July and giving the salmon a try. Sounds like they are right outside the bar a few miles south in 70 or so feet of water. Although I've fish the "sunken jetty" and bay all the time I've never crossed the bar on my own boat. I...
