Re: 24 Almar S/R
Seems to me that a cruise between 4 and 5 K is a good 25knts...that is a good controlable comfortable speed on the water. Nice job, now show us some pics of the whole boat in the water. THX!!

Re: Is this fixable and what should it cost
From the picture it appears the dent is on the Starboard side of his vessel. There are many factors I am not going to bring up here until we have had further fact finding. I advise not to own up to any of these senarios...it is for you to ponder...First rule as stated, don't say anything!!! If you w...

Re: Is this fixable and what should it cost
Totally agree with Chaps...and tell your insurance co that he has to get other estimates...and BTW, where is your ins co estimator/adjustor? When I had a claim on my camper my folks sent an adjustor out with in a week. This is BS...So he's not much of a friend any longer!!!! What happened to your bo...

You're right Chaps; manufacturer's such as Lund predominate in my neck of the woods. I've gotten some positive reviews at the boat ramp. It does garner some attention. If only it was from pretty girls..... The pretty girls like the sunshine of FL and the pastel plastic boats...but little do they kn...

Hi, Paddler. I like the Downeast looks also. Unfortunately, that usually excludes the hard bulkhead we need to keep the heat in. Thanks. Tim My Raider has the features you want...head...enclosed cockpit with full canvas that retains the heat. So it looks like you really want a hardsided cabin to sa...

Re: Zincs and bottom paint for mixed water (fresh and salt)
When moored at your permenant location, why don't you get a boat lift installed...there are floating ones, then hull is out of water and for the few weeks in salt you may not have an issue.

Re: Considering Aluminum vessel and need advise
My thoughts: She looks to be in decent shape with some upgrades done over the years. Nothing appears that new except maybe the Simrad on the upper brigde and some com gear. Those big 12V need to be checked...if the oil has been changed it is no use doing an oil test to see wear characteristics. That...

Re: Considering Aluminum vessel and need advise
Totally agree, GET YOUR OWN SURVEYOR...yes it will cost but could save you bucks in the long run. In the Charter Fleet I worked for as captain we had a Roamer. She was pretty nice but has issues being old. She had Detroits 12v71's...fuel hogs and leaked oil plus they were really too big for the boat...

Too bad we couldn't see more of the boats. Looks like they are big open skiff, wonder if they had any canvas dodgers or such? THx for sharing.
