Re: Would Ya Look At This :)
My understanding of stepped hulls is that while increasing speed and economy, you pay a penalty in really having to pay attention. It is real easy to do an immediate 180 degree turn that you weren't planning on making.

Thanks, Glen
I'm looking for another boat to replace the two I have. I plan on attending both the Seattle and Vancouver Boat Shows in 2013. I will be spending about a month up there. I will stop by and say Hi.

What the main focus is for the boat is how well it will suit a person. The same boat could be a dream for one person and a nightmare for another.StabicraftMarine wrote:

Maximus called me today and told me his uncle needed to get rid of the boat. He is either going to scrap it or donate it to the Salvation Army. I hate to see a nice old boat like that disappear. Let me or him know if you are interested.

goatram I have Seaglaze windows on my other boat. Good windows. Chad suggested the windshield have a reverse tilt to give more room in front of the helm on a boat that size. We'll see. I will be going to the Seattle Boat Show again in 2013. I'll be spending a couple of weeks up there looking at boat...

You may be a bad influence. I just got off the phone with Chad Crozier. A 17ft Crozier/(Armstrong) may be in my future after all.

I'd have to pay cash for the boat. At 90 GPH I'd have to make payments on the fuel costs.

Re: Yamaha F200 help...
I ran a new boat with an F200 on it Wednesday. It shifted like butter. One of the New Electronic Shift fly by wire or one of the old Mechanical cable operated? I don't know and it was never brought up. It was on a brand new yet to be delivered boat, so it could easily have been the fly-by-wire. Tha...

I think you are doing just fine. My 16ft Alumaweld only goes about 35MPH at WOT with a 60HP Yamaha. Your boat is appreciably larger. We didn't get these to go fast. 20MPH @ 3200RPM soounds great.

Too bad the hired help at West Marine don't know that. I would have preferred the HDS-10.MacCTD wrote:All the HDS units have internal antennas, the HDS-8 and HDS-10 included.

I just got a Garmin 740S for my 16ft Alumaweld. I picked that over others because it is easily removable, and it has an internal antenna. I would have gotten a larger chartplotter, but everything larger had external antennas.
