Re: Stuff I've been working on.
What I think a leaning post is, a place to sit while cruising, a place to lean while fishing/driving. While fishing/driving you are still standing and ready to grab a rod at a moments notice. This particular leaning post pictured is not what I would build for myself. I would incorporate a foot rest ...

Re: Stuff I've been working on.
This is a single leaning post that I am building for a Chatham commercial striper guy. It is not finished I still have to add some gussets to the deck plate and under the seat. The seat is just sitting on there for the picture. I am not very happy with the side opening on the seat. I think it looks ...

Pot Hauler Davits For Sale
I've got a few pot haulers for sale if anyone is interested. They range from $175. to $350. and come with mounting hardware. If you need different mounting hardware let me know and I'll build it for you. I've had these kicking around a bit, so I may work with an AABer on the price. These babies are ...

Re: A bit of my recent work
And, I'm still purchasing tools and equipment here and there as well, which is eating into the boat funds. I figure it is probably a lot easier to purchase these while I'm still living at home, with little overhead, and will make it much easier when it is time to head out on my own. Keep buying the...

Re: A bit of my recent work
HOLY SMOKES! I would say you have a very bright future in marine fabrication. That is really cool jon boat. I remember ready one of your posts on another site (I don't remember where) weren't you thinking of building a boat? Any more thought on doing that. I'd be curious to see how that came out. Aw...

Looks like fun. Isn't it crazy how blue those things are. I caught one with my cousin a couple of summers ago, and couldn't believe the color in the sunlight. I now they are no prized catch but they sure are neat to look at up close.

V8- 2 cats, one for each bank. One air fuel ratio sensor before cat both sides, one o2 sensor after cat both sides = 4 sensors total.
B1S1 B1S2 B2S1 B2S2=4 sensors
I don't know much about Ford, or how they're emissions stuff works.

Thanks for that reality check Kevin. Not that I was going to go look at this pile, but the thought crossed my mind. Of course I was thinking diamond in the rough with what little I still know about metal boats. Good to have a guy onboard like Kevin to set us all straight.

The thing in the tree is for the purple hanging chair in the background. My wife has been after me for a while to hang the thing from something, but I just couldn't find a good branch. So, I built one!
Anyhow thanks for the kind words Kevin. Means alot coming from a pro.

It looks like the panels on the side are pretty warped in the picture. If it isn't a piece of junk it may be a score for someone?
I think my wife may have wanted to kill me when I showed her the listing. I already have one project alloy boat on my hands.

Re: Stuff I've been working on.
Here is a pot hauler davit I built for a customer. I delivered it this morning. It is built to the customers specs, 77 1/2" tall, with a 46" boom. The main structure is 1 1/2" sch 40 anodized pipe, and the support pipe is 1 1/4" sch 40. The customer requested a plate welded betwe...

Re: Shark Warning ! (Great Whites)
I was surfing the other night after work down at Nauset Beach. The thought of sharks was going through my head with all the seals around. The seals come in pretty dang close why wouldn't a shark? At least my wetsuit is all black so I look as close to seal as possible. It is just a matter o...

Harry, I wish I had more info for you. I have only been welding aluminum for about 6 months, so I am no seasoned pro. My older Airco machine doesn't have any balance or freq adjustments. My welds come out ok, but nothing compared to when I weld mill finish. Like WelderBob said it is totally differen...

Re: Stuff I've been working on.
I use green tungsten. The only place I get any kind of discoloration is at the weld. The welds end up looking more gray than when welding mill finish. Some guys will paint the welds with silver paint to make them look pretty like the rest of the metal. The only problem with that is if you need to do...
