I remember hearing some skippers saying that salmon don't meter very well. Something about a lack of an air bladder which would return a stronger signal. Well, that's what I've heard anyways. Here's a few pics from last summer at Pyramid Lake, CA., North of Los Angeles off I-5 at the South end of th...

My credit card purchases stop at $75.
If I want to top off my truck's fuel tank, I have to fuel up when the gauge is @ half.
You're right about raising the purchase limit...
or lower the prices :x :x :x which won't happen.

BTW, both the Lucanus and the Butterfly are take-offs of lures that have been fished in other places for some time already. Here's a discussion on the AC board a while back with some pictures of the originals that Shimano may have gotten their idea from: http://www.allcoast.com/discussion/ViewTopic....

JETTYWOLF, Left Coaster here. The Lucanus jigs just became available to us the beginning of March at the Fred Hall Show in Long Beach. Lots of talk and hype before it's release because of the marketing plan of Shimano and it caught plenty of fishermen when they became available  There's also a ...

Scent tube.....That's the first time I heard that one as a guess. No it's a "salmon stalker" Float, aka: a Trout Float in my parts. I do what we call Float-rig fishing, as my specialty. A moveable stopper knot on the line, to control depth and display live shrimp over structure. http://i2...

Hey Capt Dave,
I just saw your video. Very nice.
What's that cigar looking thing above your weight? I'm thinking it's a scent tube.

Was your cameraman using a regular camcorder or a digital still camera?

Thanks, Scott

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I'll post some pictures soon. I've been looking around the site and enjoying it very much, especially the pictures of the custom work. welder: I still see quite a few of those 18ft Bayrunners around here still. Great starter boat. A little tipsy for my taste, but st...

I have a buddy that runs a 15hp Honda (non high thrust) on his 25ft. Skipjack Fisherman. Uses it mostly for trolling in freshwater. If you can handle the extra cost, electric start and power trim would be nice. I'm running a Yamaha 9.8 high thrust w/electric start on my 22' Bayrunner. @ idle in gear...

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and find it interesting to find other aluminum boat owners that are so in-tuned with metal hulls. I work in a machine shop, so metal is a familiar material to me, unlike NON ALLOY. Since 1984, I've owned two Bayrunners (Valcos), 1st one was a 20ft.cc and current one...
