Red Hot Ground Fishing

Saturday's, June 20th, charter produced some of the finest ground fishing of the season including plenty of steaker codfish, haddock to 7lbs and slammer Pollack. The bite was so furious the charter waved a white flag at Noon and decided to troll home looking for tuna along the way. No tuna were land...

Re: Fishin and Wishin

Us Northerners are tough...just like our boats  You dont have to jig much when the bite is on..a couple pulls and your tight. I probably have every jig ever made (including all the fancy new light ones) but when I want to put fish in the box I always go back to old reliable. Give them what ...

This past weekend I had the pleasure of welcoming guests aboard the Lady Diane who had not previously fished with me. Both charters hailed from NY (yes we do allow Yankee fans on the boat) and in fact lived within a few miles of each other. While we did not “limit out” on cod either day (the streak ...

Cod Limits Again..6 trips in a row!!!

Another great weekend of cod fishing on Stellwagen Bank off the shores of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Limited out on cod both days and chased busting tuna as well. Saturday weather gave the anglers tough fishing conditions but being very experienced fisherman they stuck to it and limited out on the c...

Re: COD FISHING UNDER ATTACK...PLEASE HELP NOW!

What are the current bag limits? The current limits are 10 cod per person per day 24" minimum length. We want the NEFMC/NMFS to accept the most current data (2001-06) as the defined period as it represents how the stock is being rebuilt and no further reductions in bag limits are necessary. Th...

Fished on Stellwagen this weekend and found plenty of market cod and haddock for my charter guests. The bite on Sunday was so good that the guys limited out in less than 80 minutes on market cod to 12lbs. Keeper to short ratio was an excellent 4 to 1. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn281/fullstr...

Hull Zinc

A question for those that have a slip or mooring. I know that every harbor is different but how often do you find that you need to replace the hull zinc on your boat? I pulled mine after being in the water for 30 days and I can see that the zinc is working but it does not appear to be excessive. BTW...

The guys had to fish their way through hundreds of short cod to put some good keepahs in the boat. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn281/fullstrikeanglers/Johncod2.jpg The guys ended up with 85l...

Great day fishing on the water Saturday May 9th and the catching was great as well. I fished on Stellwagen Bank again today and found plenty of nice haddock and limited out on market cod to 17lbs. The charter went home with 150lbs of cod and 30 lbs of haddock fillet with only 3 guys fishing. While t...

Great Day Fishing..Decent Day Catching

Ed Bramer, Ed Jr, and Bob from CT joined me today on a day long charter to the bank. I decided to fish for cod in the morning and then go haddock fishing. First stops found nice markets to 20 lbs and the guys, being very experience fisherman, filled their limits within 2 hours. Off to the haddock gr...
