There was a good looking Ottercraft on the Seattle Craigs list a little while back. I am still trying to talk myself into it, but it is a little bigger than what I am looking for in a second boat.
Worth a look.

Re: Silver Streak Boats
I like having the interior painted with Zolotone? I also like the painted on non skid that is a similar product to bed liners. Can't think of the proper name. The rest of the boat will be pretty much upkeep free if you just get a coat of Nyalic? on it. Save the money you would spend on a paint job a...

The boats look well built, and the design looks good. I would put a Silver Streak on my short list if it was already built and ready for purchase and service.

Great pictures.
Your boat looks to be rigged and "accessorized" just about right for the northwest. Do you have some more photos you can share?

Wonder what a Coldwater version of the Oceansport Roamer would price out at with a couple of big Yamahas and a kicker approximately.

Re: heater brands
I have had the same Wallas heater as Chaps in my last couple of boats, with good results. My present boat also has a Toyo heater defroster that seems to work well, and hits the bunk area harder than the Wallas.

Bob
I noticed that you have a possible good deal on a larger Verado. All the advice you got here is good. Perhaps check the weight of the replacement Verado against the motor you are taking off. If the replacement is too heavy, could put your scuppers a little low.

Sounds like you have it figured out.
Duckworth has designed a serious offshore boat, and will be on my shortlist for my next boat.

Re: glass owner looking to upgrade
A couple of considerations... If you don't need all the rod holders on top of the cabin, split them and run a couple down each side, so you can put raft or other junk on the roof. Consider rail on top side of roof so you have something to hang on to going around. consider rail on top of aft cabin ro...

The new Duckworth looks pretty good, and well built. Local dude had his rigged with Verados so he could have twins and rear driving station. My choice would be a big single.

Re: weld on aluminumn steps
Take a look at the armstrongmarine.com site. Should be some pics of ladders on the side of pilothouses. Mine are curved pipe welded top and bottom with pipe steps. Click on used, and look at the monohull somebody is selling. Steps are on starboard side of house. Not very complicated.

It sure looks like an Armstrong from their days in Sidney. You have the right website. Give them a call and see if they are building any of the smaller stuff. They are good folks, and easy to talk to.

Re: Taxes on Canadian purchases?
In the not too distant past, a boat purchase made in Canada could be delivered via Pt. Roberts in the US to complete the purchase. Paperwork would already be completed to put boat legally in US. US state taxes would be due as required. There is an abundance of American aluminum boat builders, as wel...

Very well put Mojomizer.
Very sweet boat. How does the fuel burn and performance of the jets compare to inboards or I/O's. Are there any hard figures?

Not familiar with Norville, but looking at your list, and considering value for money spent, and ease of communication between builder and buyer would certainly have Coldwater on my short list, along with Armstrong, who probably would build you a mono or cat.

Re: ColdWater 3300 WalkAround
It looks like the 350's and the 25 are at the same mounting height. The 25 is probably a shorter shaft. Any issues with the kicker being deep enough in the water, or linkage hookup from the larger motor?

Re: CATAMARAN vs MONOHULL
I think you will find Armstrong and Moose to be on the cutting edge of aluminum cats. Anyone shopping for an alloy cat should give them a call and talk about it with them. They have built enough cats for the government, lodges and private individuals to have pretty well refined their designs. I have...

But here is a few photos of one of the interiors set up for six pack charter. I will post a typical recreational customer interior ...
