Re: Albacore Tuna tackle
If you're talking about trolling set-ups You'll want to get 6' or 6 1/2' rods 40-80 lb. line rating They don't have to have roller guides 4/0 wides or regular 6/0's with 60-80 lb. mono will work just fine Normally, you use a non-level wind reel for the better freespool and casting for bait fishing, ...

Re: PTown
Yes trolling with lead core, usually targeting 25-30' and rarely need deeper then 35'. This is mainly a mid summer - fall, daytime tactic when the stripers are sitting on the bottom. Around here you mostly see guys trolling and either wire line I've never used a downrigger, why would you use one in...

Re: PTown
Hey, nice catching there TC
Would have liked to have seen the look on your brother's face at that moment.
I assume that you are trolling while using the leadcore?
Might be time to consider a pair or downriggers in conjunction with the LC

10-roger PJ, I will go out tonight and change my chart plotter to knots for safety reasons . That and to cornfuse some of the guys I fish with. But I'm still keeping COURSE UP on the screen. You do realize that your perceived, terrific MPG is going to be less than it's been. Right? :scuba: I'm a No...

Came out good!
Look's like your shaft is too short
Does your arm reach the bottom to empty out the bones and skin?
I've found frozen bait chops up best because it gets softer after freezing
