Re: New guy from Maine
Welcome aboard. I think you'll be happy you've joined AAB. There is lots of helpful info here, and lots of guys with Pacifics that can point you in right direction. I am shocked that you don't see more alloy boats up in Maine. I have only seen a few here and there. Maybe they are starting to catch o...

Re: Earl
We really didn't get much more than a rain storm and some wind. We were still able to head out first thing Saturday morning for nice 6 hour ride to the Maine coast. Maine had great weather all weekend. Glad we dodged that bullet. I can always use the fire wood from a good storm but I sure dislike th...

Re: Earl
I gotta tell you guys I have been stressing all day. Got home after work, took down a big dead pine tree off the back corner of my house. Moved my boat to a safer spot. With any luck a tree will fall on it and my homeowners insurance can buy me a boat that floats. This s--t storm couldn't come at a ...

Re: 18' bayrunner question
Thank you for the information. Please read next topic, I came across a Boston Whaler Montauk. You are very fortunate you discovered this site before you bought an alloy boat. Learn as much as you can before you buy! Alloy boats have their advantages but they can also have their problems if not prop...

Re: Pacific Repairs & Modifications
Good to know. Those guys are pros. There is a guy with a winninghoff near me (actually he has 2), he had them add 2' to the back of it. That seems like a ton of work to me for just 2 more feet. I guess thats whats so great about aluminum, if you don't like, just cut it apart and weld it back togethe...

Re: Pacific Repairs & Modifications
I love that look. I think I may do that to my boat. Did they only weld them like you can see in the picture, or did they end up doing a continuous bead?
Looks awesome.

Re: 6061T6 vs 6082T6?
I had looked at that boat online a while ago, and liked it. I am curious to see how you make out. This is your first boat? Let me know what you think of the plans, instructions, and build schedule. When I finally build a boat I would like to build something that has easy to follow plans. I'm not exa...

Once you get started you will have to keep us updated with pictures. Building a boat is my long term goal. I plan to do it in the next few years once I have honed my skills more and acquired all the tools needed.
Good luck.

Where do you find the time? I like the design! I suggested a foot rest to the customer, but he did not want it. I will post pictures of the installed unit when I get them. The customer picked up the unit tonight, he is responsible for installation. Hopefully it will do well? I gave him everything he...
