Re: My new North River Seahawk Offshore 24'
I asked a dealer about the same type of paint job and they said it can't be done. What can't be done? What boat are you contemplating buying? Painting just the cabin inside and out. Or even just the inside. Not contemplating right now although I do like the 24' Cuddy which is not on the website. Be...

Re: My new North River Seahawk Offshore 24'
Received some more in-build pictures of my new boat. The observant will notice that the tie-downs (for cooler primarily) have been re-positioned from the first batch of build pictures. It was felt that the former position was inconveniently too close to the transom and North River have been very goo...

Dual station kicker throttle control
I want to be able to have throttle control of my kicker both up front in the cabin and at the rear deck helm. My dealer tells me this is not possible so it looks as if I shall need to have the main throttle control at the rear and look to an electronic Controllking, ProTroll or i-Troll for in the ca...

Re: What seats for my new boat?
I've got one of these, Bentley mechanical suspension, salvaged it from a boatyard dumpster! They work OK, not as good as an air unit but way better than a solid mount chair. marinerstandard1.jpg These are what come as standard with the NR Seahawk Offshore. I am looking into the National and Bostrom...

Re: What seats for my new boat?
Suspension seats are a wonderful thing, enables you to comfortably run the boat in lousy conditions. Kidney and spine savers, worth the money IMO on any fast boat to be run offshore or in big chop. Suspension seats are worth every penny. A year from now you will be very glad you put them in. Scott ...

What seats for my new boat?
Well build has started on my new North River Seahawk Offshore 24' and I am still oscillating with a few details. Thinking about the front seats and whether to maybe drop the standard NR 'Mariner' seats for a truck-type seat with compressed air suspension. Would very much appreciate suggestions.

Re: What to do with new aluminium boat
24 feet with 400 HP???? That boat will SKAA-ROOO  Well, I have been picking brains and advice from two or three forums. It has been said that with twin 150's I might be slightly underpowered while more have said this power would be well matched. Twin F200's are $5300 more in analogue and h...

Re: What to do with new aluminium boat
It will oxidize which is a good thing. Try and keep it clean so that it doesn't end up turning splotchy as it goes to gray. Once it has skinned off with oxide just wash it as needed. I think I wash mine about once a year and its impossible to tell I've done anything to it . . . congrads on the new ...

Re: Twin Yamaha 150's powerful enough? Now Twin 200's
Well in the end to opt for the new Yamaha in-line 200's was only $5,300 more for the analogue version so I have taken that. The 200's weigh only slightly more than the 150's. The digital version of the 200 works out a fair bit $ more for not a lot more as far as I could see and both versions have va...

What to do with new aluminium boat
OK so I am buying a new aluminium boat. Following advice on here and elsewhere I have specified 'no paint' except inside the cabin (Zolatone) and for anti-slip finish on gunwales, swim-deck and deck. The boat will have bottom paint and will be moored in saltwater year-round. So what do I do? Do I wa...

North River Boats Not for Mooring?

Marina Hoist Dropped my Boat!
Recently I needed to take my boat out of the water to take in to the dealer for service etc. As it was a rough day, I decided against using the boat ramp and to utilise the marina hoist to place the boat on my trailer to avoid any mishap. Or, so I thought! What happened is that the hoist operators w...

Problem is I do not think my water intakes have seacocks; just a piped inlet to the pump and then outlet. Could this be the case or would it be unusual?

Re: What Winter Prep for Winter Moorage?
Thank you for this. I have a stainless steel screw-in transom plug, liberally anointed with 'never seize'. This I have checked each time the boat has been taken out of the water and does not appear a problem.
How do I drain the pumps with the boat in the water?
