Re: 23 Pacific w/trunk cabin in PacNW (of course)
while the sleeper feature is there as a unique add-on, there are a couple things that concern me:
a) with the extra weight, is it underpowered w. 130hp?
b) with the sleeper, the WA cab is set back, leaving only 4 ft to the transom....not a lot of area to work a fish

interesting price drop. that rig was previously featured on Pacific's site for $61K and then posted as sold.
tough economy and tough time of year i guess.

how about a stabilizer fin
if its holeshots & planing assistance needed, don't move tanks or re-manufacture the boat, just add one of these to the engine leg. cheap , simple, and you can take it off if you don't like it. http://www.boatingsolutions.com/Doel-Fin-Hydrofoil-Stabilizer---White-P10211C1296.aspx i use one on my...

Re: Opinions on my next project
if you remove the bait station you could always mount a bait cutting board on the transom surface. i prefer the open space and flexibility to load extra gear if we're camping/hunting, chairs, or work an active fish. as for rod holders, welded in place is a strong solution.. but then they are always ...

Re: Almar Sounder by North River
Thanks Welder. the 26Wa w twin opti's look like a great deal, but engines would have to upgraded, and the twin anchor setup is unique. i have Julie's price list, and I think I've spoken with someone at Tradewinds before. there is also a 2007 23 ST that the owner of BOE Marine is selling, but its in ...

Steve, are you looking at the 30 footer? i saw a 2008 25ft pilothouse with a 300hp Suzuki on it and it looked pretty solid. hadn't heard much about them so went looking for more info. And have you looked at any other Mfg's ? absolutely - Pacific is top of the list - there is a 26ft in the Alaska cr...

Almar Sounder by North River
hi guys, Any opinions or experience with an Almar Sounder on here? Appears to be a commercial grade made by North River. their website is light on specs http://www.almarboats.com/models/sounder/gallery Almar are listed in the builders list, and search has them mentioned in one other post, but no dir...

I had to replace the worn out vinyl floor covering in my Kellahan....UV destroyed it. then water got finally thru down into the foam below and waterlogged it. just like you.....new marine plywood, 2 coats marine sealer, SS screws, then coated the screw tops w f'glass resin....and i sealed the sidewa...

Rollers on mine...I can launch on any low tide, and can get back out using the winch. any mild slope , and she'll launch with a light shove. Any roller trailer made for salt will be galvanized, use aluminum roller arms, rubber rollers and stainless steel roller pins. Just keep the rollers greased wi...

I've used the Cabella's boat patch to seal a leaky rivet before...worked fine....i wouldn't trust it on anything bigger than a crack....but its temporary.....go get a patch welded onto that hole....assuming the original material hasn't gone brittle ....is that a bit of corrosion I see? or how about ...

Re: Let’s hear your first love story and why you went aluminum….
In 1957 my parents bought a cottage in Ontario on Canal Lake ( before they bought a house ) , and in 1959 they bought a 14' SpringBok rivetted aluminum boat, powered by a 15hp Gale, then Dad upgraded to a 25hp Gale w/ electric start. We ski'd, fished, he'd pull me on the surfboard for hours...in 196...

Re: 2008 Pacific in craigslist
Here is an interesting performance comparison I found on the Weldcraft site: -comparison of ( all Yami ) twin F90's, twin F115's, a F150, and a F225 on a 24' 240 Ocean King, dry weight 3,275lbs. ...so a little heavier than a Pacific 23HT, but close enough.. -ranked best to worst -Time to plane: 2xF1...

Re: 2008 Pacific in craigslist
I watched that video of WreckFisher's 23...that boat planes instantly...the twin holeshot torque is obvious...he was kind enough to share his experience....he says it does 45mph tops....and it will eventually plane on one motor using his trim tabs.... his recommendation was twin 115's minimum. 135 i...

Re: 2008 Pacific in craigslist
Ok, i've been trying to gather some data on the twin f90's vs an F150, but Yamaha doesn't seem to publish any twin info. I did find some opinions that twins will deliver approx 50% more effective hp than the single..so if thats true 2 x F90's would deliver 135hp combined...its not 200% due to more w...

Re: 2008 Pacific in craigslist
any idea as to how it would perform w. twin 90's? i have a 90 2-strk on mine now and it trolls right down nicely, with a top end of 38mph. the 23 is bigger, heavier...i'm guessing 30-35 mph. i'm guessing twins won't go faster, just give more torque, as well as the safety factor. any comment on expec...
