Re: spool gun or tig?
I have seen the pictures of your boat and the work it has undergone. It is my inspiration. Your boat is pretty incredible, and I can only hope mine comes out half as well as yours did. I have some 3m 36 grit sanding discs for my die grinder do you think those would be a good means of prepping the su...

spool gun or tig?
Here is the thing, my boat was an inboard jet, and now has an outboard bracket with an outboard on it. So I have this big engine box taking up all this valuable deck space in the back of my boat. I have a pretty good plan to remove it, and make it flat with a flush mounted hatch for access. Here is ...

Re: 4 Cycle Engine Owner/ Missing / Idle Problems
I know that almost always smooths the idle or fixes the start and stall on drive by wire Toyotas that I work on. In fact I had one today at work, cleaned the throttle body and it was mint. It sounds like what you are saying would make sense on a 4 stroke outboard. I don't have a 4 stroke but when I ...

When are you thinking? I live down on the Cape, and would try to make it if the timing is right.

Lenco trim tabs
Anyone install Lenco tabs before? This may be a stupid question, but here it goes. The install wiring diagram shows the orange wire going to a switch, anyone tell me if this is to be wired to switched 12 volts? Any help would be great. I've got all the wiring run into the pilothouse, outboard is hoo...

Looking good! The stripers are here on the Cape, I got my first keeper the other night out of Cape Cod bay. Good luck, keep those pictures coming.

Re: Making some progress
I saw some non skid paint at Overtons that looked like what I am looking for. I think I may give that a try. If anyone has any comments on that let me know. I want a rubberized finish, not a sanded finish. I have small kids that will be raising hell on the deck, we don't need any skinned knees and w...

Making some progress
Well I finished my new dash today. I used 3/4" Azek (plastic exterior house trim). It's alot cheaper than Starboard, but probably a little softer. I figured it is better than using wood. I get it from a fence guy friend of mine that uses it with vinyl fence, and he gave me some psycho pvc glue ...

Sweet, I love the look of the finish on the hull. Where you at in Ma? I'm out on the Cape, maybe I'll see you on the water this summer.

Re: Interested in your opinions
I suggest looking into Quintrex, It's an aussie boat. I just sold a 15' wide body dory 2 weeks ago to buy the new love of my life. They are all welded aluminum construction, very deep and wide hull design. I know they make a wide body dory in a 17'. Look em up, I was very happy with mine, and it sou...

Jettywolf, I never got your email. I have checked my regular email, and my private message section. Try sending it to kndennison@comcast.net
Thanks anyhow, hopefully it's not to much trouble to resend.
Thanks,
Nate

Re: New boat, any input?
Thanks for the words of encouragement. Like you said it can be easy if you make a plan, and that is what I'm doing before I go all willy nilly and make another mess. I am an auto mechanic, so I have an idea of what I'm doing. I just need to apply what I know and make sure to use marine grade materia...

Re: New boat, any input?
Slow going, I've got all the old mess of wires out, and have figured out what I need to get to have the engine running. We have a Boaters World store here on the Cape going out of business, so I went down this weekend and got anything I could find to help me along with my project. I will post some m...

Re: New boat, any input?
Not sure of the thickness, but I would think it is at least 3/16"? I have a 96 115 mercury 2 stroke, probably under powered, but it is what I have for now. I will just be happy to have it working for this summer. Just going to continue working on cleaning up the mess. Thanks for the words of en...

New boat, any input?
I just bought this boat this past weekend. It's not the Pacific that I've always wanted but the price was right, and it's a big step up from my 15' Quintrex. The hull is a 1988 23' Cape Marine, I was told it was built in Rhode Island but haven' t been able to find out anything about that. Anyone eve...
