Anyone seen this boat before or know whos making it.
I'm assuming that this is an alloy boat from what it looks like at first I thought it might be a rocksalt but I would assume that the pics of it would already be here if it was. It appears to have two rows of seating in it under the hard top. The pics came from the Houston area as far as I can tell....

http://www.kiwigrip.com/ I done a lot of research on coatings and this is what I have come up with and I have had it on my boat for almost a year got about 90 hours on the motor gives you an idea about use. I have had a problem with the paint that this is coated over (dumb mistake on my part with pr...

Re: Finally got my new boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well guys sorry I haven't replied earlier but I have been busy with work and the boat in the evenings. The boat in the inside is my own layout that I came up with but it is basically a Florida style flats boat on top. As for the hull ya aluminum flat bottoms have a long history in Southeast Texas an...

Finally got my new boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright guys here it is, now I got about another 3-4 weeks of rigging and it will be on the water. I've decided to run a 90hp fourstroke Yamaha hoping to get in the high 30's low 40's mph. For the guys that haven't seen my other post the boat is .125 5086 17' long, 5' bottom, 7' beam, and 19' total ...

Re: First Pics of the new cat
That's a good looking boat. I've done the same thing you are doing taking pics throughout the build for one it is fun to show them and two if you ever decide you need to change something or add something you can look back at the pics and have a fairly good Idea of what you are dealing with under the...

Re: Aluminum Bass Boat
Justinfish: Do you have a link to your builder? I could not find one in either post. Thanks SB No site he is just a small one man operation all hand built by him. He did tell me he was thinking about having a site built but for him word of mouth works fairly well. He did tell me he had an 18' bass ...

Re: Aluminum Bass Boat
This is a link to my thread of my boat that I'm having built it's not a bass boat since I will be using it as a multipurpose boat, but the guy that is building it for me does build bass boats also. I'm actually about 80 miles from Toledo Bend and the guy that is building the boat for me has a G3 rep...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! NEW PICS 4th update!!!!!!!!
Here's some new pics to look at. As you can see the outer hull is finished and the floor, decks, and rodboxes are getting put in know. The float boxes on the back are finished now on the bottom side they are 16"x21" so that a lot of added displacement and on top they are about 24"x20&...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! 3rd update new pics!
Here's a new set of pics the boat is now flipped over and getting the keel and spray rails put on. You can see the keel that he puts on the boats it's a half round that he welds over the whole vee. Then on each side of the boat he put spray deflectors to angle the spray down off of the bow and on th...

Re: Batteries?
I'll be running AGM's in my new boat cause I'm like Jetty and hate maintaining batteries. Other benefits of the AGM design that I have found are one because the glass mat in the batteries is packed tight between the plates it acts as a support for the plate which means that they are more shock and v...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! 3rd update new pics!
It looks stout with all the bracing. Can you explain how the bracing (stiffeners) on the transom are set up? Is that U-channel that is attached to 1/8" plate? Will the motor be thru bolted where the channel is? Someday I'm planning on getting the "wood" out of my transom and looking ...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! 2nd update new pics!
OK, guys here's the next set of pics of my boat and two more in there of the builders boat so you can see the way that the float pods will be on the back of my boat the only difference is mine will be wider and longer. All of the stringers are in and over half of the cross braces are in along with t...

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
Awsome looking boat I imagine it is nice to have a full cabin to drive from in rough or cold weather compared to all of the center consoles that you see here on the Gulf coast. I noticed that you have a Du Bro rod rack on the ceiling of the cabin, I don't know if you have used them before but I have...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! 2nd update new pics!
OK, guys here's the boat with some of the stringers in place, they run from the transom all the way to the very tip of the bow and they are rolled out by hand one at a time using a custom roller press type thing a lot like a English wheel. They follow the curvature of the boat so when they are welde...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat! 1st update!!!
Ok guys i've got a actual boat now here's the new pics. In the pics of the transom you can see that the side sheets go like 2' past the transom that is because they are going to be the sides for the sponsons unlike most of the boats that have sponsons that are boxy and a after thought these give the...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat!
I need to learn how to weld aluminum, cool pics thanks for sharing… If you know how to MIG steel it is not that hard of a transition to aluminum you just have to have your materials cleaner than with steel. If you want to use a TIG that is another story you need some one to teach you at least a lit...

Re: Pics of my Texas marsh boat!
No I'm not building the boat I have a builder doing it, been building for at least 25 years.
Yes, there will be a lot of mud in that thing soon enough and hopefully a lot of fish slime also.

Texas marsh boat! 5th update the boats right side up now!!!!
Alright guys here is the first pics that I have taken of my new boat that I posted up about a week ago. For the guys that didn't see the other post it is a 17' x 60" semi V transitioning into a flat in the rear with a step at the transom (the step takes the place of a tunnel ) at the transom th...

Not sure about the color of the boat yet but most likely not camo. That now brings up a good point. The color that I'm thing right now is a grey interior with grey seadek http://www.seadek.com/ on every horizontal surface and the outer hull thinking maybe seafoam green what's yall's suggestions. Re: I'm getting a marsh boat!
Thanks for the welcomes. The hull will be 1/8" 5086 and the deck and such will be 1/8" also but not 5086 and the console and other things will be .100. My builder has been doing this for 25 years in a small shop and most of the time he works alone and saying he is picky would be a understa...
