SeaArk Marine 25 Commander on ebay
This looks to be a very well kept SeaArk used in freshwater only. 1998. Twin 225HP Evinrude DFIs.
Doesn't everyone need a SeaArk in their fleet?

MacCTD: There's no way around the motor restrictions. Max 4S motor is 25HP which is what I have. I use a Yamaha high thrust outboard that works well with my 15' Stabicraft. It makes about 20 knots. With the high thrust motor you sacrifice rpms for torque. It also has a large prop. But high rpms coul...

Alloy: Trolling live bait. WRT inspections, the state is concerned that zebra mussels get into the water supply and clog up the pipes. So boat and trailer must be washed by certified boat washer. Bunk trailers with felt are a no-no so I had to change the bunks also. Once that's done you're in. As lo...

Lester: They're red (or more accurately: "salmon" :) ) colored. Just like ocean salmon. And you're allowed two per person.
Not large by Alaska or PNW standards, but around here anything over four pounds is a good fish.

Massachusetts Spring Salmon
Finally managed some quality time with my Stabicraft. During my latest trip home I caught a nice 5 1/2 lb male landlocked [Atlantic] salmon on the Quabbin Reservoir. They're right on top this time of year.

Re: PULLING THE TRIGGER
I had a modified V hull, 18' Lund with twin Honda 25s which worked out fine WOT of 33 knots. My 18' Eaglecraft has a 115 Yamaha. So does my 17' SAFEboat. They''ll make 40+ knots. But also they have V hulls, so it depends. 18' bay boat may not have much deadrise, so 50 HP may be enough. I'd trust the...

Re: GSA Auction
You have to go to the general GSA auction website and navigate down. http://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/gsaauctions/ There is something screwy with the GSA website. If you try to copy a link to a specific item you get a timeout message when you click on the link. Anyways, its a good price. The price...

Hey - you can't get too sentimental about a boat that no longer fits into your scheme of life. Things change over time and if you don't change your flotilla accordingly you end up with a boat or boats that just sit.

Re: whatha think? Deal or No deal?
I get serious about fishing when the bite's on -- either dawn or dusk or else on tide changes. When the bite is off we'll do some exploring or eating or drinking or stretch out. Hafta admit those times are as good as any others. I believe it could be fun poking around in one of them swamper boats. S...

Re: Anyone heard of Aluma Form boats from Tacoma?
I love it how people selling on craigslist abbreviate the word "aluminum" as "alum". Or they misspell a key word. Don't sellers realize that not all buyers read all adds and some search using common keywords?

Looks a lot like an Almar, except for the shearline.
Here's a photo of a slightly used 20' Almar.

I attended the Seattle Boat show last Friday. Most impressive was the Sealegs. A dock is no longer required for those of us with homes on the beach. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk66/illgotoo/sealegs2.jpg This is their alloy boat. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk66/illgotoo/sealegs.jpg St...

Re: Seattle Boat show Meet and Greet
I plan to attend today (Friday). I'd love to hang out with the AAB crew on Saturday, but regretfully I have to fly out tonight. My flight originally was yesterday but the storm on the East coast cut me some slack. I was able to rebook the flight without extra charges. Now I have time to search out s...

Re: Monark Roustabouts
Jetty: Saddle tanks, I think so. The tri-hull gives more room I think. I'm told these boats really pound in rough water, though. It was amusing that these boats (three of them) were available thru the GSA auction. I considered picking one up, but didn't. The winner of the auction wasted no time plac...

Re: An interesting older Armstrong with a ballast tube
It seems to be a pattern where some alloy boat builders start out building small boats and graduate to larger ones. Think Armstrong and Eaglecraft. I was in the market for a small boat too. I talked to some builders and got the idea that, yeah, they could built it but it would cost. I was encouraged...

Re: SEA ARK - Monark story
Jetty, Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's really sad how little time we've had on the Seaark. Blame it on trying to work through the bad economy with little time for hobbies. The good thing about alloy is that it will still be there when bad economy passes. Hopefully this spring some Seaark...
