Re: 1957 Lone Star Holiday

Here are update photos of this boat as I was bringing it home.. it probably had 250 gals of water in it and over another 100 lbs. of wet leaves and debris. I stopped at a car wash on the way home and sprayed it off some and pulled out most of the soaked rotted wood floor..

Re: 1956 Duracraft 16 1/2ft.

That's going to be a sweet little ride, what are ya thinking for power? Thank you welder !! I have a couple period correct motors I could use.. the 1958 "Duraflite" specs for a 15' 66" beam rates it for 30-60 hp. I have a 1957 Evinrude Lark 35 hp. and a 1957/58 Mercury Mark 75 60 hp.

Re: 1956 Duracraft 16 1/2ft.

That is in great shape for a 60+ year old boat. It looks like you can have a captain piloting the boat with the crew or cargo in the middle. It has a nice sharply angled bow but a pretty low deadrise. It should stay on plane at a nice low speed. A really good find. Thanks Dave !! I can't find the s...

1956 Duracraft 16 1/2ft.

I went up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last weekend and this followed me back home ! its a 1956 Duracraft boat.. not much info on these boats can be found.. model is probably a Duraflite but dimensions don't match anything on the 1958 and above sales brochures.. there doesn't seem to be litera...

Re: Another Unknown aluminum boat

I don't think that's a Lone Star boat.. I have a couple Lone Stars and I've never seen one like that on any of their brochures.. the cruisemaster is similar but much deeper hull and the motor extensions are different ..

Re: unknown Alloy boat

You can do a lot of guessing and guessing might get you close but in reality the only way you're going to know what motor to put on that boat is to find out how much she weighs. Then you're going to ask yourself is the fuel tank in her going to be large enough if you put a bigger motor on? What is ...

WOW !! that is cool !! and what a great story and appropriate name !! it must weigh a lot.. did the engines still turn over ?? before I found this last boat I went to look at a 1950s Lone Star cruiser and I ran across this all steel boy.
