Re: unknown Alloy boat

You can do a lot of guessing and guessing might get you close but in reality the only way you're going to know what motor to put on that boat is to find out how much she weighs. Then you're going to ask yourself is the fuel tank in her going to be large enough if you put a bigger motor on? What is y...

I found this picture online he's got your boat and then he's got a mini boat lol.
Unfortunately the motors were roached as well as the drives. I ended up ripping everything out of it fuel tank and all starting off from scratch it's the only way to know that it will be done right.

Re: unknown Alloy boat

Here's a few pictures of mine it was designed as a brown water river boat with twin diesels and jet drives she sits in about 9 inches of water her bottom plate is half inch thick and welded every 6"s in both directions down the length of the hull. According to the US government in 1984 it was d...

Re: unknown Alloy boat

You say your new to boating? I think you have a fantastic future in finding and selling unique boats with the two boats that you've shown us. Some people spend their whole lives and find one unique boat. You have TWO you do realize if you add a third it will be called a collection.

Re: unknown Alloy boat

Start over, I don't know what you see in it. You saw the boat you thought it was cool and you made it happen. And now you own...

Re: unknown Alloy boat

Wow that's one cool boat what are your plans with it. How did you find such a unique boat? Did the guy you buy it from give you any story on where it came from or what it was used for?

Re: rubber floor matting

For years I used these on the deck of a crab boat. They are heavy so they don't move around and they're easy to clean because they come apart. Only down side is they only come in red.

Thanks for the insight obviously I didn't really know what I was getting into. I think I will just stay away from aluminum boats. There is a reason you don't see a lot of them down south. Thank You for the wake up I was lost in the dream.

Goatram
I think I have read your build three times I only have one problem with what you have done and that's I want to do a lot of that to this boat. Really your build has been an inspiration. lets hope when I get to see what I have got myself into I don't have to much trailer work.

Re: Hello I Just Bought 27' of Scrap Aluminum

I know that trailer is over kill I had to buy six used tires just to move the boat. On top of the beer I owe my buddy who dragged it to his storage yard. Oh the joys of boat ownership
